I thought it was JanusTwoFace, seeing how people shorten it to "JTF" (which to me sounded like "just the fuck", or "just that fucker", but that's just me); only now I notice the 'f' is lowercase, so it should just be JT... as for me, I don't care. It's Zathras after the B5 character, but 'Zath' is used often, and I'm fine with just 'Z'.

You weren't precisely the paragon of activity in VM2, dude. In fact, it was your lurking that caused breadbox to latch onto you like a furious chihuahua. Only time you were really active it was just you, me, and a late night bottle. So, uberyelling didn't work, lurking didn't work, you may try actual activity this time.

Do be advised that he's in a very different timezone (Australia, I think), which, regardless of how lurky he is or isn't, may put a bit of a damp on the furious, agile interchange. But I make no objections.

Wasn't able to post during that period I was absent. Was very busy.

Also, if this game JUST SO HAPPENS not to start until this weekend or next Tuesday I'll probably be more active than I otherwise would.

Yeeeah... maybe. We did gloss over it over the last one. The benefits of it staying open are its agile and fluid nature overall, it's a fast game, and locking it and waiting for PMs does deflate it somewhat. But the locking thing would prevent a breadbocks-like situation. Ottofar: Your ruling?

I prefer having it open; it gives time for discussion and allows the person who's slain to post their PM so we get resolution instantly.

Before I answer the poll, maybe we can answer this question instead:

Can the lynch, vengekill and so on be called on the spot, and be final? (i.e., before Ottofar does the formal close of day)

For example
Scenario I:
- Player A hammers Player B.
- Player B says "damn it! vengekill player C!"
- Player C says "damn it! I'm town too! That means game over!"
- Player D&E jump in "Yeah suckers! Woohoo!"
... all this in the middle of the night, closing the game in one swift move, before the mod even sees the votes. This, incidentally, is what happened in VM1 and, to a lesser extent, VM2.

I like this scenario, as the game fluidity and dynamism is what makes it most fun, however, if player B (lynchee) was actually scum, he could have bluffed C into posting his role... with potentially modkilling or game-breaking results. Or a breadbocks cheating attempt. We can perhaps just make these shenanigans explicitly prohibited as part of the rules, including "no takesie-backsies or mulligans!"


Scenario II:
- Player A hammers Player B.
- Player B says "damn it! Let's all forget about the game until the mod comes, posts end of day, roleflips and locks."
- Player B takes another 24hrs or so to PM the vengekill of Player C.
- Mod takes another 24hrs or so to post the results and unlock.
- Player D&E jump in "Huh? What? Oh, yeah, uh, suckers!", or game day 2 starts.

Safer, but boring-er.


I like the first scenario better, but it would perhaps require rule changes as listed. I also suppose that, since we've never actually hung scum in this format, we may be missing some data points.

I like option 1, with the rules making it explicit that trying that sort of crap is against the rules.

Alternatively, you must post your PM when lynched before firin' your laser.
