Pretty much why I refuse to play this game anymore is because everyone starts yelling and being grumpy at eachother at every ludicrously small action or remark. Not to mention most people "native" (lack of better word) to BYOND who play Hazordhu seem to have the unwritten objective to be the most absurdly annoying person on the internet.
People need to calm down.
So I'm correct in assuming that Hazordhu has degenerated into Haven&Hearth-style artificial drama, in-fighting, and people taking RP personally? Such a shame, I finally clicked on this thread and the first few pages got me really interested
Nah, it's a lot better now. It got out of that stage. I find that every small clan faces some in-fighting, up until someone takes over, people agree with him, and get a proper government in place. Right now, the dwarf governments are a bit paranoid, but it rolls along well with the RP and creates a lot of Fun.
It could use some more players right now. I thought Abaloddom to be a bit boring because there's not really much to do and nobody to see it when it's done.
Personally, I'm not playing because the F0lak had sort or the same strange mood that Toady had and started recoding everything. So every time I log in, something is broken.. farming stops working or locks or bug that surrounds me with deadly animals or the resources suddenly disappear. It's pretty awesome, and makes it feel more like a multiplayer DF, but I'll go offline and read a math book or something while waiting for bugs to get ironed out.
And heck, if you don't like the drama, you could always just start on another isle like everyone does. Just stop by one of the dwarf forts to trade for starting equipment.
