Well first it was two guys we tangled with last night, starting to rebuild I think. Then Mikeche showed up. Then a few others I'm pretty sure are associated with him also came on. So.

It's still down. Expecting a pretty meat update at this point.

I updated the Deities list.

We now have Gar, the snow butterfly of War and Butterflies. We also have Kast, the Bipedal pseudopod of Fire, Volcanoes, and Inspiration.
Gaia's female side has gained Deceit and Peace.

Lol, snow butterfly of War.

Why is there a male and female Gaia? The stuff should be put onto the Haz wiki, though :P

Ricky, please DO NOT POST IC IN OOC AGAIN. And if someone corrects you, accept the correction. Don't lie about it. We don't need that out of our community. That's something for the other side.
(Edit: Also, do not act like that with the OOC Joining/leaving to try to get unmuted. That is very unacceptable. We don't need THAT representing our community.)

On a related note...
Mikeche attacked the fort, killed all the pillars. The design causes a LOT of caveins since it had so few real walls.

And Muz, There is a male and a female because Gaia has two faces.

He did a lazy job of destroying the fort. Just one way in, anything he could burn or smash. In the grand scheme of things he did a pretty weak job.

What I'm more annoyed about is the fact he seemed to have intel about where things were and the best way to get at them. I'm starting to get really sick of admin involvement, period, in RP. We've never asked for it, yet it's been giving and dealt out to us.

To note, for Haz readers, I'm not talking about throwing around powers or whatever. Just the simple fact admins are there and involved, even as player characters, raises a lot of suspicisions. I've HAD an admin throw powers at me before in the name of RP, so I know it's not out of the realm of possibility. Whether they are or are not actively involved, when they start RPing, it's impossible for players to say with certainty whether they are or not. I've been told multiple times the admins are only there to answer questions, remove stuck people, ect.... my experience has been otherwise though.

My analasys of the attack:

The enemy came in the east gate. He bashed a strait line through bars, walls, and a lot of other things. There was 2 of them cooperating, since they always hit a side.

They advanced through the fortress, killing rock walls and walking through any unlocked door they found.  at one point they found like the only room in the castle besides my room and the temple that had brick walls, and bashed through the side. They lucked out that it was an armory.

When it was done, they fell back destroying pillars on their way out.
Total time doing this was less than 2 hours.
They were successful because most of what they encountered was stone instead of brick, and there wasn't much construction that wasn't important, so everything they could hit was important.

I should have most, if not all, of the damage repaired before anyone gets online and screwed by it.

There at least was a mostly accurate map of the fort outside, though I'm not saying it didn't involve admins.

I don't know if they did or not. Some of the events leading up to this though have in some ways been admin driven, to greater or lesser shades. It's cool they can help drive the RP...but when they start identifying with player groups, things get really murky.

They did not get access to that map. It was in a protected area.

I don't mind admins getting involved IC so long as they don't use their powers to get some kind of advantage. No in game character should benefit because of admin privileges. At the same time admins playing the roles of wizards who drive the story is fine but it has to be fair. Unfortunately it can really ruin a game too; Those without admin help can quickly feel alienated and put upon.

Fair enough.

I'm fine with admin privileges driving the game forward a bit. Even if it means like a super strength character or something. But it should be logical... I mean, they shouldn't use it to know where the fortress' weak points are, they should go and spy and scout the place with the characters. They shouldn't use it to grief, though, attacks should make everyone more excited, like it did at the start of the game. Instead of just blowing up shit and making people cranky about rebuilding, it should have some kind of emotional impact.

Anyway, yeah, Duradbesmar was a bit poorly designed for column attacks. It was before the cave-in change, when pillars lasted for a whole boot.. Next design should try to hide those pillars behind walls.
