So where does Orc territory start out of the Western gate? I've been as far as the western river during Bloomtide, and as far north as the falls.

"Orc territory" is a tough definition, especially since the orcs themselves are describing themselves and each other as "good orcs" and "bad orcs". Technically the whole island is "orc territory", which is why we can't make totems. If you mean "where will I get killed by orcs", the magma area a bit west and north of the fort's inner lake will get you killed and skinned. And it's safe to assume that if you find a flag claimed by orcs, you shouldn't poke around there either.

Fellow dwarven fellows, I believe the real question is how to apply that magma to solve both the orc and human "issues".

Mind you, I'm not actually playing (BYOND doesn't play well with this computer, natch), but if it's possible to turn significant portions of the land into bubbling swaths of molten rock -- and bits of charred flesh, of course -- I might just have to bash my computer into functioning.

Can it be done?

People on BYOND call sprites icons. I have learned much.

I'm gonna go out and ask, Duelmaster409, are you Shinsuke?
No way. Shinsuke cannot place two words next to each other properly, and he doesn't know what a "punctuation" is. Also he didn't know what bay12games were, but Duelmaster409 already has quite a few posts here.

I'm more of a lurker than an active poster here on B12, but I've been here since mid '09 but registered late '09. But, to clarify, ingame I am a Settalian that cannot speak or understand any other language but Settalian. Not even common language. It's made so far some pretty interesting dialogue and encounters, with people sometimes insisting that it's against RP rules to not understand the common language.

The point of my little shack was to, ideally, begin trading with Beardpully and the local Orcs in exchange for my safety. I actually let the Orcs take a few of my things, and they were pretty cool overall with me being there (actually, they were really pissed off and physically roughed me up and almost made me bleed to death). From what I understand, I was killed and had my entire shack and my possessions destroyed because you guys didn't want the Orcs getting upset over my presence, which is pretty logical! However, it totally ruined my idea of first establishing some sort of defense against you guys first before you decided to come knocking with swords.

P.S. I think the Hazions are pretty upset about this deal as well. A representative from their colony periodically visited me to make sure I was safe, and even insisted I pack my shit and haul it over to their colony and establish there. He was there when two of your dwarves came and beat me three ways to sunday. We were pretty chill, especially since he was basically the only person in the entire game I encountered who could speak to me in Settalian. I assume the Hazions considered me as one of their own people, but outside of their colony's limits. So you guys murdering me would PROBABLY trigger some sort of aggressive or otherwise martial response.

P.S.S. I think I'm going to just start a new character because I like the way I died and I don't want to come back to life magically even though I was killed. That would be pretty lame from my perspective.

My god.  This game is really doing roleplaying and diplomacy correctly.

How badass is that?

Ok, the Gorge Orcs just walked up and firebombed out West Gate. I think it's official.

Right. Let's get this war started!

I am building a penal colony for any captured prisoners near a metal deposit. We will make them forge like slaves! Buhur-haha

Not sure, Penguin. Preferably if you die, respawn at Hazion. They have a bridge on the Northwest side of their island leading to us.

Anyway, can I be formally recognized as The Head of The Church of Gaia, and be recognized as nobility as well?
