You don't actually download things at 1GB/s, it doesn't work like that.

I said one gigabit, which is what they measure it by. Eight gigabits = one gigabyte.

And I am well aware of distance, load and other such limitations thankyouverymuch.

It's a geographical thing. To put it simply, they're all close together, so messages take less time and you have to build less. It's like one big LAN party.

South Korea's bigger then Holland. The again, Holland has one of the highest connections-to-household ratios in the world, so I guess you're right.

The Netherlands, even if it's more densely populated as a country, has its citizens more spread out than SK or Japan. The local concentration of people within their cities is enormous.

High bandwidths can be gotten at university campuses as well, speaking of big lan parties...

im paying 35 bucks for 12Mbits so im not complaining. i can hit up to 1mb for torrents.
