Species Selector in DF?
« on: October 11, 2010, 03:01:57 am »

I was wondering one day what would it be like to have a species selection if DF?  Not a mod turning dwarves into kobolds, but a full on selector with elves, humans, goblins, dwarves, and kobolds on it.  I would like it myself, as it would be fun to have multiple civs at my fingertips in one version.
Thoughts?

And bonus points for anyone who can explain how those pointy eared bastards have lived this long?  How the hell do they harvest anything?

It's planned.

And it's long been said by Toady that elves can harvest things in a special, non-harmful way.

More like "sharing with nature" way. Anyway, there's no side tool like that, but it's easy to mod in.
Just add CIV_CONTROLLABLE to all civs and select them via "civilizations" menu during an embark.

Hippie pionts for all!
Anyway, what Civs would you play?  Me, Dwarves and Kobolds are my faves.  Little chance of it, but a Kobold population used as ancillary to Dwarves would be amazing.  My Fuzzy Bastard trying to boss around other fuzzy bastards, building a pump to keep out the goblins.

If you do add CIV_CONTROLLABLE, make sure to copypaste the dwarven noble position raws too.  You may hate nobles, but your expedition leader, bookkeeper, manager, med dwarf, and militia captains are all nobles.  It REALLY stinks when you can't look at your stocks.
