What can you do with them besides tame?
I have like, 3 pages worth of them. They're not the extractable kind, either.

This is a useful feature..and this is DF.. so im gonna assume its bugged
That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

Oddly, it works even if your temperature is off, they just disappear.

Or they did, memory is a little fuzzy, i just started checking elf caravan cages for vermin before stealing them.

Huh...I just had a vision of a dwarf surrounded by Tamed Blue Jays & Squirrels as he skips & sings his way around the fortress interrupting half the population who are forced to join him in an impromptu yet well coriographed dance number...

Anyway, so tamed vermin's pretty much useless? Will cats still attack them?

Are you actually able to unassign them from cages correctly? I've been getting cancellation spam about the lack of an animal trap any time I try to release vermin from a cage.

This is disturbing.
Also, dwarves do not skip. Never.

Actually, the mongols did. They found it to be a very efficient way of travel.
Of course, they were also HUGE, unlike dwarves.

To release a vermin from a cage, it must be placed in an animal trap. If it's a pet, I believe that it can be taken out by its owner.
