Challenge Fate RTD - Turn 9.
« on: October 10, 2010, 06:37:44 pm »

RTDs, in essence, are simple, random games. That simplicity is beautiful, yet we strive to improve on it. Add complexity, and use an unbalanced, mostly non-sensical ruleset to create a greater story. Complexity and plot are nice, but this game returns to the roots of the RTD: Random stuff will happen. It will not make sense. Players will die. Repeatedly. Cope.

Backstory:
It is March 17th, 2011. Scientists have discovered the impossible: A personification of Destiny. The human race is, apparently, destined to die out in ten years or so. Luck, not standing for this nonsense, has begun imbuing a select few people with the Esseence of Luck, which is apparently able to stop Destiny. Or something.

You failed to hear the rest, as the bartender switches the TV off, muttering something about drunken scientists. Suddenly, you feel enlightened. It's hard to describe, but the standard laws of physics no longer apply to you. Looking around the crowded bar, nine other patrons appear to also be immune to the laws of physics. Some glowing man hurries out of the bar, apparently having something more useful to do.

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Quote from: Phantom
Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Ochita - Follow glowing man
{6} - Ochita claims to really need to find a restroom, and follows the glowing man very well. So well, in fact, that he tackles the man two blocks away when the man stops suddenly. {2} - The man, completely unused to being tackled, falls to the ground with a thud. His left arm makes a strange cracking noise.

Frelock - Ask bartender to change the channel back.
{5} - The bartender shrugs and turns the TV back on. Journalists are now interviewing various people.
"God has spoken. His faithful are to Rejoin with Him, and know eternal paradise at last."
"It's nonsense, I say."
"Destiny will surely reward those who stand with him. Guide me, oh great one!"
"What's that? No, I'm just here to pickpocket these losers."
After a few minutes of this, it cuts to a commercial about soap.
Intimidation at [2/5]

Wolfchild - Bump into the glowing man
{4} - Phill followed Ochita in his pursuit, and tripped over them after Ochita's tackling incident.
Pursuit at [1/5]

Cappisty - Roll to have a panic attack
{5} - Johnny calmly pulls a 20 sided die out of his pocket. He rolls it (3), checks a piece of paper containing a table of actions, and puts both back in his pocket. He then runs around yelling about how everybody's going to die. {1} - The NPC bar patrons pick up on this, and form a rioting mob outside.
Improv at [2/5]

Tarran - Search the floor for a rile
{2} - Tarran ignores the rioters and searches for a dropped rifle. All he finds is a crumpled napkin roughly in the shape of a gun.
Dirty napkin gained

Flintus10 - Whistle, then go outside
{1} - Aaron begins whistling, then gets a fit of coughing. He suddenly finds himself shoved along with a rioting mob, receiving a few painful bruises.
-1 HP

Mindmaker - Follow the glowing man
{6} - Vincent runs after the glowing man. He quickly finds himself on top of a pile of four.

Dwarf Midget - Follow the people following the glowing man
{5} - Dave decides that the people all leaving the bar must be going some place important, and so he follows them. He watches as they all pile onto the glowing man.
Pursuit at [2/5]

Spade - Follow the people following the glowing man
{6} - Cindy soon finds himself on top of a pile of people. He thinks he hears somebody calling desperately for air from the bottom.

EddyP - Follow the glowing man
{1} - Teddles follows the glowing man, but loses sight of him. Not one to be discouraged, he follows a random person instead. The man enters a run-down house surreptitiously, so Teddles follows. A man guarding the other side of the door grunts and asks for the password. He sounds like he needs a hug.

NPCs:
Glowing man - Stay conscious
{4} - The man manages to not fall unconscious. He begs for the people on top of him to get up.
Left arm: Broken

Teddles, you know what to do.

Rush to the glowing man's aid, and try to help with whatever injuries he has. Try to get on his good side with small talk while working.
