Kaguro, what do you mean like an Elf?
You could cut so many trees, that you could bathe in elf tears. Or, if you prefer, their blood.

Except dwarves don't bathe.

(My fort does fine, until migrants arrive, cutlery in hand, and eat my meagre food stocks. I really have to figure out this whole farming thing)

Every few episodes, once ive got an arena and olympic area built properly, in which 2 unlucky layabouts race, and who ever loses fights to the death with a captured animal!

FireMissionAlpha, AKA the scottish god, may I suggest dumping elves into the arena? With creatures from the caverns perhaps, elven fools Vs. Forgotten Beast perhaps?

Hmm... I like this... Only problem is capturing the blasted creatures/elves...

Ill have to build a defensive tower outside the fort to fend of elves, and also find a way to lure them into the traps. Any ideas?

Useless dwarves as bait, in both cases, or setting up cage traps at the edge of the map itself, atleast for the forgotten beasts.

I might make funnels above ground, and channel out a way that attackers must pass through, and line it with traps.
