Sorta depending on the season, as well as coming back from the beach, and which shower I'm using (indoor or outdoor), I alternate for comfort, or at least heat up gradually first.

What helps is going as hot as possible, scald off any bacteria, make a sauna of the shower, clear out the pores, and then end with a chilling finale and seal up the pores. A good way to remain crisp and clean for a slightly longer time than usual.

I like really hot showers. There is a handicap shower in my residence hall at college that is not only really hot but has enough water pressure to actually push you back a little. It is amazingly relaxing. I don't feel guilty for using it because there are no handicapped people on my floor, and besides I seem to be the only person who ever uses that shower.

I prefer it hot, but not so much I get burned.  That being said, this building has a...unique...tendency to either produce scalding hot water or lukewarm, so it's sort of a crapshoot how hot I need to set it beforehand.

I put near scaldingly hot, just because when I take a shower I have to set it to painfully warm to douse my head in the streams for ten seconds or as long as I can bear it to kill all the fleas.
