Sheb, do my infantry get the bonus from Advanced Rifles despite having better weapons?
Also, I keep forgetting to ask this: Is the Gaza Strip a separate country?

USEC and Ragnarok, I intend to take Portugal and all the islands in the Mediterranean. I hope you do not have a problem with this.

Ragnarok, now that I have Spain, if you still want to take Iran I will provide what assistance I can. If you do not, I will claim it myself.

V-Norrec: Okay, you've got a research project for this turn.  Next turn, I'll send you Manual Turrets if you'll research Computer-Assisted Turrets, a turret design still aimed at anti-infantry work, still operated manually but with targeting assistance.  $200-$600 completion bonus depending on available revenue afterwards?

Ragnarok: You didn't order your transport to move into the Western Medditerranean. It can move to Italy directly from the estern Med, so it isn't a problem. Also, you'll need five parts for the BFLG, not three. And the launch is 1500$ a piece. Yup, it's expensive, but you did choose the costliest option for an orbital strike system...

Archangel: Yup they got it. Laser rifles with electronic aim beat standard laser rifles. And the Gaza Strip is part of the Palestinian territories.

hmm. Could have sworn I said that. Oh well.
Yes, it's expensive, but it's also within reason a self sufficient colony. which is nice. also there is a lot of force behind the rounds. Which could help when I try to take over a more central country. or if italy takes THAT LONG to be taken over. and yes, I will take Iran.

That seems reasonable.  Most are getting the update in within the first couple of days anyway.  Can always post 'Not going to be around, just keep this standing order for the next few turns' like Spoon did.

Damn, Guinea was undefended anyway?  I suppose I could have just waltzed in with a unit of Regulars, but that would have gotten in the way of my 'peaceful' image.  XD

Territories

- Sierra Leone ($800) -  4 Infantry (2 Entrenched), 1 Manual Turret, 1 Battle Accountants
- Guinea-Conakry ($0) -

Wealth

Revenue: $800
Savings: $115

Construction: 1 Manual Turret in Guinea-Conakry; -$200
Buy-Out: If Battle Accountancy is sufficient to drop Liberia's economy to 0, make a takeover bid.  This is a standing order for all BA operations, so I won't mention it further after this.
Investment: $600 is going straight into revitalising the economy of Guinea-Conakry, with an emphasis on the special resource of Mineral Wealth.

Tech

Transfer Manual Turrets to the Ghostfang Brotherhood as part of our research agreement.

'Armies'

Battle Accountants begins undermining the foreign aid that supports Liberia's already wrecked economy.

Quote from: The Economy of Liberia, Economic Warfare Directive Report
The Liberian economy remains one of the worst economies in the world, thanks in no small part due to the seven year First Liberian Civil War in the mid-nineties.  Liberia is rich in natural resources, particularly lumber and climate and ground suitable to agriculture.  Unfortunately for Liberia, its unstable, corrupt and incompetent government and history of violent warfare have thus far detracted from the appeal of investment.  Liberia possesses little in the way of a manufacturing base and suffers the weight of crippling international debt.

Breaking Liberia's economy is relatively simple - we need only interfere with the massive amounts of foreign aid that suspend it.  The Directive recommends a mixture of shareholder purchases and mid-level bribery to redirect aid to more 'deserving' countries.  Once aid is being noticeably withdrawn we may then begin sponsoring faulty infrastructure rebuilding efforts that will further destroy confidence in the democratic government.  Once Liberia has safely descended to the Guinea baseline we may begin the wholesale buy-out of the remaining intact infrastructure and military assets of the country.
