So far this story explains for future reference don't pull a scheme to get laid (without working a escape plan).

I liked this more than the previous ones even, perhaps the best one yet.

Awesome :) Eventually you guys should publish a compilation of these in dead tree form, complete with analysis and some extra DF-related stuff (maybe some nice handy references from the wiki), in a nice hardcover binding with fan-art. Would be epic, besides the gouging from self-publishing printer services.

Is it just me, or is Dwarf Fortress going goth?  Ecxellent story anyways! Very emotional, like the others. Threetoe, you should write a novel.

PS: Now I REALLY cant wait for the next update!

Hmmmmm, I've been noticing in a number of these stories that adventurers finding romance is definitely part of the DF world. Certainly a player deeply in immersion will take the time to read character descriptions of notable characters and may grow attached to one, but I guess the main thought is: can adventurer characters have children?

The other big thing I noticed was the enchantments on the hunter's sword. This implies we can make them in fortress mode. I look forward to overseeing magic industries. Even better if those enchantments were randomised so I never knew what I'd get and I can't mass-produce the same thing without variations in flavour.

Also, adolescent vampire? Vampires will grow up in the DF world? (and then someone will link the "Our Vampires Are Different" trope).

I liked it and learned something new. "Somewhere in the distance a cock crowed." What I pictured from that sentence at first was interesting. Turns out 'cock' also means a male chicken.

Also, it looks like I might have to try Adventure mode out after this update.

I sort of assumed that it meant a vampire that had been recently turned/embraced/etc.. Of course, a moody, hormonal creature of the night would be pretty damn terrifying, I suppose.

:o:"NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME!!!" (Locks self in room, starts blasting hymns from the stereo)
:(:"(Sob) Where did I go wrong, Vlad?"
