Vab, just Vab.

I'm getting something kind of odd. One of my original 7 has only one name. Any ideas?

I've encountered this very rarely for other modded races. As far as I can tell, it doesn't mean anything special about the dwarf, and I don't know what causes it.

It could, however, signify that the name of a god has been assigned to your dwarf, or that he is not actually a dwarf, but a member of another race like gremlin.

He's definitely a dwarf, he just married someone. No modding that could interfere with this.

Actually, in his profile, it shows his name being Vabok Delerbekar. that's strange.

Truetype font support breaks whenever it tries to print accented characters, such as the "ô" in "Vabôk". In some cases it draws a blank square, and in this case it apparently gives up entirely. It's a known bug.

I got Vab in one of my first few Fortresses when I was still getting into the game, I didn't understand that he was unique. I'm glad someone else got Vab, he must have been lonely because I know he didn't get into Valhalla, being drowned in your dining room isn't exactly the hero's death that is required.

I currently have Stinth though (who again was one of my original dwarfs, I've had him twice though so he's not as cool as Vab).

He might be THE god in Dwarven disguise. Some gods go around as dorfs, etc. at least according to their descriptions.
