Lol, That was so punny.

Yeah I know what you mean, though I wish my current fort had more elves to slaughter...They are so fun when they try to trade, but instead get a face full of spears.

*edit* Also on a side note, what the heck am I to do with a artifact wooden bucket...lol

Build an artifact well? :P

Also: I think I'll take a turn too, if you're still taking membership that is! :) Dorf me as Donpatrick.

You are now dorfed unless our glorious leader says otherwise for some reason.

Sorry I haven't gotten finished yet guys. Been busy with coursework.

I plan to finish up within the next couple of days though.

?????

The Great Toad appeared quite quickly.

"Oh, this happens sometimes," he said, "it's not finished yet, alpha version, very unstable. Just open it up again; you should be able to play from where you left off before."

I must try not to think about the implications of what the Toad God is telling me.
(Am I the product of an imperfect universe? Is my life meaningless? What happened to Bellwaxed? Did it go backwards in time? What does that mean?)

-----------------------------------------

27th Granite (again?)

Fivex and xczxc are alive!

...

Why couldn't this have been done to save me?

Nevermind, best not to dwell on it. (Are they dead and alive at the same time?)

Since I've been given a second chance, I'm going to cut the bullshit and make sure that nobody dies of hunger or thirst or some other stupid, preventable reason.

--------------------------------------------------------

3rd Slate #2

Mission accomplished; for real this time.

Now maybe we can get some actual work done around here.

---------------------------------------------------------

16th Slate

Digging out storerooms for the future metalworking industry.

Other than that, it appears Bellwaxed claims ownership over a <tame large roach> and a <tame rat>. Maybe someone will adopt them as pets. Maybe they can be trained as war animals? Investigation may be prudent.

-----------------------------------------------------------

27th Slate

Migrants!

...God damn it the program crashed again.

-----------------------------------------------------------

...........

.......................

..............................................
...........................

20th Slate (#3)

I think I will preserve the state of Bellwaxed at this point just to be safe.

15th Felsite

No crashes yet... this is promising.

I finished digging out the storerooms for the metal industry, fine tuning what the dwarves put where and such. A separate section for adamantine. Things are looking up.

--------------------------------------------

11th Hematite

Digging out veins of raw fuel, soon Bellwaxed will have all the adamantium armor and weapons we need.

--------------------------------------------

26th Hematite

A harpy just strangled a cat to death and is killing a random lye maker outside of the fortress. There are a couple of other harpies hanging around.

I must send the military at once to deal with this threat!

-------------------------------------------

3rd Malachite

Harpies got obliterated by our crack military. The battles didn't last more than a second or two apiece. Mostly just harpies getting sliced in half and eviscerated.

Unfortunately, the lye maker has met a sticky end.

When I raised the bridge to send the military out, I realized we had been keeping about 30 migrants from getting in.

Whoops.

---------------------------------------------------

13th Galena

Well well well... here are our human friends, come to siege us. Some spearmen. I've decided to raise the gates until our adamantine armor is done, then show these humans how dwarves conduct warfare.

8th Sandstone

Looks like the humans are here for the long run.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

26th Sandstone

Looks like our master swordsdwarf has become attached to his adamantine short sword.

I'm not at all surprised.

-------------------------------------------------------

15th Timber

It's time to give these humans what-for.

Mobilize the troops!

The dwarves trickle out one by one. Probably not the best tactical choice.

The humans are charging!

The duo of hammer lord and swordsdwarf are handling their own admirably.

The hammer lord has entered a martial trance, the humans shall know the meaning of pain!

The adamantine armor was a very sound investment...
Check out the awesome flurry of blows the Hammer Lord throws down while in his martial trance!

Huzzah! The archery militia has joined the brawl!

The humans are broken!

And their puny siege has been utterly crushed by the might of Bellwaxed. Huzzah!

Bonus: Battle Reports

As this is the first attack on Bellwaxed by the humans, I felt that it should receive some extra coverage. Here's some battle reports I found to be interesting.

Note the devastating power of adamantine as it cuts through the bronze mail like butter and shreds the human's heart.

Epic brain stab.

The value of Adamantine armor, xczxc's noble death in glorious battle, and the avenging of xczxc by the swordsdwarf.

The also noble death of Zaik and the one-hit avenging kill by our Hammerlord.

Huzzah!  Nicely done.  I thought they'd have sent more than one squad of spearmen.   Hopefully they've learned their lesson.

LilGunmanX and DuckThatQuacks are listed, welcome to Bellwaxed.  :)

Bellwaxed lives up to its purpose!

I told you our military (at least the original four oily gulfs) rocked, specially urvad.

I can't believe I died instantly...too bad there were no opportunity to defend myself...I wanted to be the captain of the guard...aw well. Amazing fight anyway!

This fortress is outstanding, and I'll be watching it.  Join?  Hell no, there's no way I'm touching the amazingness of what's going on here- I'd corrupt it or some such!

I would like to be Dorfed though, if that's alright.

1st Moonstone

As winter settles upon the land, the last season of my quest to aid Bellwaxed one last time springs forth.

The dwarves are all celebrating our victory, and mourning the loss of Zaik and xczxc. Those filthy humans must have done some kind of evil trickery, to take out those dwarves so easily!

I've always fancied myself a bit of a dabbling artist, so I've laid down a plan for a little memorial to this day. Hopefully it comes out like it looks in my head.

The Great Toad has been checking in on me a lot. He seems impatient, perhaps he wants his computer back. I will have to make this winter count.

But for now, the dwarves of Bellwaxed seem content to gather the objects dropped by the slain humans. Perhaps Bellwaxed can find a better use for all the bronze items, even if only for scrap, than the humans had.

All of the dwarves have started calling Thob "Thob Lertetherith Ethadodad Oslan". The humans translate that to, roughly, "Thob Tangledlabors the Decent Feast of Winding". An odd title, but no less intimidating when it comes with an adamantine sword to the face.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd Opal

That is quite a lot of filthy Human bronze. I've ordered it all melted down. We'll make it into something more... dwarvenly.

Like smaller armor.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7th Opal

You're shitting me.

--------------------------------------------

16th Opal

Blessed Armok! I will indeed get my revenge on the cursed Ogres before my time is up! Excellent. Our archer militia seems to have taken the initiative...

Hahaha. Even our lowly, untrained militiadwarves can defeat the once-feared Ogre menace.

---------------------------------------------

1st Obsidian

The very last month of my supernatural reign is here.

My monument to Bellwaxed has been completed.

It's all over but the shouting, folks.

-----------------------------------------------

1st Granite

Best of luck for future Bellwaxed rulers.

Glory to Bellwaxed forever!

A Final Note from Argembarger, the Dwarf

-----------------------------------

Well, my work is done. I owe a large debt to the Great Toad, for letting me finish my worldly work. Bellwaxed must now take its own initiative. What surprises shall the future hold? I know not, but it is sure to be saturated in the blood of our foes, human, harpy, and ogre alike.

Dwarves have always been a strong, hardy race, able to bounce back from any catastrophe. How strong, then, when there are no stumbling blocks on the way to glory, and the road is paved with Adamantine? Surely Bellwaxed will create a legacy that will live on for aeons to come. The will of our true queen shall be upheld. We will remain absolute.

The Toad has come, surely to lead me to Paradise.

//Five Minutes Later\\

Darkness. Silence.

Where am I?  What is this? Who are you people?

Oh carp.

-------------------------------------------------------

So that was extremely awesome. Thanks for letting me in on this fortress, I had a blast :)

Stuff I accomplished:
Fought some humans
ADAMANTINE HOLY SHIT
drew a picture in front of the main gate

Stuff That Should Still Be Accomplished:
Lots of stuff.

I'm no expert at this game, and I'm sure the next overseer will facepalm at how shitty of a state I left the fortress in.

It's not BAD necessarily, but it could definitely use a veteran's touch after my somewhat disorganized run :P

Here's the save.

Bellwaxed Year 4

Godspeed, gentlemen gentledwarves ladies male, female and gender unspecified dwarven comrades.

Oh yeah, I did not dorf squeakyReaper or DuckThatQuacks (did he even want to be dorfed?) so the next one up will need to do that.
