I was clearly trying to act like an idiot that doesn't know anything, and of course the Book is totally different from the movie. They're always different.

S'pretty extreme in the case of Starship Troopers, though. Heinlein had an entirely different thing going on with the book that the movie more or less missed out on. Movie's tech was pretty puny in comparison in a lotta' ways, too (Micro-nukes!). I'm quite glad I read the book a while after watching the movie, heh.

As for Aliens, the critters themselves were based off some art piece or another, iirc. Not that it really matters, I guess. Thread could probably stand a locking :-\

Edit: One could be forgiven for calling it a ripoff. I mean seriously, it's extremely similar by screen shots.

It sucks and looks exactly the same as Dwarf Fortress.
