Must have been before VI(and V, but that one really sucked). In VI, they just store it in the building until it's full before taking it to the storehouse(upgrading the resource building both increases that building's capacity, and the speed at which the deliverer moves). For processed goods, like food and clothing, they'll actually put it out on the storefront shelves until someone picks it up.

Yeah Akura, that screenshot is what I'm on about - call me wierd but I can't stand god-type games where you can't see a buildup of stockpiles etc. Probably the reason why in DF I don't use armour and weapon bins! I like to see whats available at a glance!

So does Settlers 7 do this?

I'm glad I'm not the only one; I felt weird when Tropico 3 didn't seem to do this.

Sadly not, Mrchinchin25.  Unlike in Stronghold and Stronghold 2, you don't get a cut-out of the building you click on or scroll your mouse over to see at a glance what you have.  But S7 does a really good job of remedying that by having on-the-screen showings of exactly what you are producing and what is in storage on the top bar.  8)
