so, besides those 4 games you listed, you dont really play any games right now?

I recommend finding other ways to "waste" your "free" time besides games.

Build something.  Either carpentry (a simple wood sculpture or a bookshelf is still something neat!) or programming or art or a small construction project (Treehouse!) or, hell, if you're like some people, a neat and tidy house is its own construction project.

Go out and watch the clouds for a while, or the sea if you're lucky enough to live near it.  It's a good habit to relax yourself.

Find a local game store and see if they have Friday night demo nights.  Read books.

Cortex Command, a heavily modded Morrowind, and Notrium can eat your time pretty well.

Flailing people to death with empty socks, though, that takes a lot of effort. Less so if the sock's made out of something interesting, but generally quite difficult.

OK!

Go hand out with friends, get in trouble, pursue sex with other humans, learn a valuable skill, help some other people, etc.

That sounded unnecessarally dickish

Try Mud and Blood 2. It's a flash game sure, but it will eat your time as you try to find some way to get past wave 40(before which tanks generally don't show up). And the RNG god likes to screw with you as well. I had the idea of protecting the signaller(radio op) by putting him in a trench behind a palisade(which blocks line of sight/fire) because every time I called in support, someone would shoot at him, forcing him to cover and abort the call; a fucking single arty round took him, and only him, out.

Flash games in general can take up plenty of your time.

What, the "pursue sex with other humans" part?

I highly recommend Alpha Centauri to anyone who likes the Civ series, as I honestly believe it to be the best-made Civ game to date. Spelunky is essentially an Indiana Jones-inspired roguelike that thinks it's a platformer and has the added benefit of being free. As others have said, Minecraft has excellent sandbox-style gameplay (somewhat literally at times) although it's important to realize that the free version of the game is nothing like the alpha before you really consider buying it.

Wanna break 1 million points in Sonic 3 & Knuckles? I almost did. Good time sink there. Heck, any good classic game works.

I think I actually did something like that in the original Sonic or Sonic 2. Got caught between those bumpers in the Casino Zone or whatever it was called. Got so many points the game crashed. I made a console game crash. Had to have been the first, in the second the bumpers stop giving you points after a while.

If you have 1100 rings in Sonic 2, you'll make the ring indicator corrupted for the level.

I could have sworn it stops picking them up at 999.
