Upgrades.
« on: October 05, 2010, 11:56:10 am »

I was on the wiki looking up stuff on adventure mode, one of the things I notced was it said you can only buy/sell things in human towns, which i've seen and understand >.> even if the shops rip me the hell off. But it mentioned something about dwarf civs 'upgradeing', what the heck is that about? Related question, besides these 'upgrades' and makeing your own fortress is their any relibile way to get armor better than bronze that you don't start with?

Not 100% of the time, and sometimes I like to play as a human, usually if the humans are closer to the elves than the dwarves so I can slaughter them sooner.

By upgrading I think it means when you retire adventurers in town, it becomes bigger. (This was demoed in FireMissionAlpha's LP)

Yes, his videos have inspired me to try again at adventure mode after becomeng bored with it at first. I managed to slaughter almost an entire city of elves, includeing their queen, princess, druid, and an acolyte. Though I can't seem to find the last few people to just make the city go away. Then my adventurer got unlucky fighting something, a wolf I think, and got his throat ripped out.

Wolves are the most common creature that is very good at ripping bodyparts  ;D

Wait, retiring an adventurer in a town for some time upgrades their armor and weapons?

Not sure about the new weapons or armor but they do give you stuff of the town's item quality. Like when my PlayNow! Kobold back then was all naked and retired in a human town...upon starting again, he was actually given Kobold sized clothing from various animal leather by the Townspeople, unrestricted by my original species clothing limitations (shirts, pants, vests, etc).

And what do you mean by the Town getting "bigger"? It improves or raises the towns quality or something?

But can you get rid of villages from the map completely? If you kill everyone in it I mean, I attempted to do so with the one elves city on my map but even aftet I couldn't find anymore elves the sign for a city just wouldn't go away.
