Juuust one problem with the original design: you can't build workshops over floors. Bridges yes, traps I think so, but not workshops.

I do this all the time.  Build a floor over a magma pipe, remove a spot, and put a magma workshop on top.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Another option to vary the initial design would be to split the farm plot, and have the smaller part do nothing but plump helmets while the rest makes sweet pods/cave wheat/cave wheat/plump helmets.  It will give some variety, but requires getting the needed seeds in place (easier to do with a single seed type).

See, I've built BCF floors and not been able to place a workshop on them.

Really fuckin' weird.

Perhaps you should make a topic about it.

OT: MMF, that is a good idea, but I think it is a bit inefficient. A design like this would be best:

I think we can simplify it further.

I took it as Dwarf Cell. You stash a dorf there so that migrants can come.

each cell should have a lever that floods/collapses some other dwarf's cell.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

You should find a way to pump in the liquefied remains of other dwarves, and then find a way to extract the excess body heat for running screw pumps.
Simple. Build this one level above the magma sea. Put a grate in the floor, and a pump running into one wall.
Now the dwarf is The Pump Operator.

Has anyone done mass-production of this yet? How's the framerate when you have a lot of dwarves, but most of them are in D-cells?
