(Semi)-Realistic Naval Napoleonic War RPG
« on: October 04, 2010, 04:02:22 pm »

Anyone interested? It will work as a roll-to-dodge, but the players will be crew members/officers and we will, hopefully, try to keep it at least somewhat realistic. You guys can all vote on a country, ship name, ranks and MO's, whatever you want. So, just speak up if you have any questions, suggestions, or if you are game.

Oh bad ass, this is the kind of thing I can get into!!!  Let's see now, Britain is sort of over done, France is for wimps.... that leaves only one option... RUSSIA!  They were building up their fleet at St. Petersburg at this time so it's a semi-logical choice... another option could possibly be Prussia, because they did have ports, but they didn't really focus on navy at all so I think Russia is the best option.  FOR THE TZARS!

Btw, dibs on officer if we're going Russian on this.

Russians are allright but the fact that they are building that navy makes them kind of hard to be. Because we would have to bend and twist around many things to start off y'know.

SIGN ME UP, NOW!

Russia is a fine choice. If they are building up a navy, they'll need officers to command it right? Inexperienced officers, who have no idea what is going on, or have any ideas of how a ship works. (AKA us.)

Russia? Galleys is all they were ever interested in building.
Go with the Ottoman Empire!
Wait, they've had mostly galleys too...
Still, it's much more fun(FUN).

Should I set up a poll, or wait for more options/ideas to emerge?

There's always the Austro-Hungarian navy, for a truly surreal experience.

I suggest you choose the one you're most familiar with.

Also, what's a roll-to-dodge?

It's just Austria, at this point, if I remember correctly.

I'm afraid you've got that one wrong. It stays A-H until the end of IWW.

Ah. Good to know. (Except the WWI part, I knew that already.)

Heheheh, I must admit, it's actually an epic fail in history on my side. It wasn't A-H yet by the time of Napoleonic Wars, as a quick check on the wikipedia clarifies - it became Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1867.
Duh, I'm hopeless and I take my hat off to you, etc.
