You've noticed that Onyx isn't very obedient. He'll follow your orders, but not in the way you ask. You ask Bob to help calm him down a bit, and invite some of the recruits to come help hold him down while you work on synchronizing with him.
Onyx responds rather... Well, to say the least. He didn't respond in nearly aggressive a manner you thought he would. He still tried to eat a few of the recruits, but hey! He didn't kill anybody, right?
After calming the guards down, Onyx shows that he's less interested in harming things. Them specifically. Onyx seems a bit more tired. He didn't nap before, but now it's hard to make him budge.
While the recruits and Bob try to make Onyx move, Robert returns with the men and women you had him lead. They have the prisoners in tow, and Robert reports an updated map of your territory. He also seems to have taken a fancy to his new position, so you tell him he's been promoted to Squad Captain for life, until he gets a promotion. Robert smiles at his new position, then goes to the training room to our new and improved training dummies, which you totally made.

I'd recommend capturing the garden soon. Also, you can go back to the town you unleashed madness upon, and the animals and people that control it will recognize us as leader pretty much immediately.
If you don't want to advance the plot you can just suggest another random thing to do.
