I don't see much fun in starting as a rogue AI. We'd have so many nuisances to deal with immediately, and essentially no defenses, since we(presumably) haven't learned any yet. Though this is  Bay12, so not being suicidal constantly isn't really on the agenda now, is it? I'll change my vote to starting point G, just so we can do this in the true fashion of the Bay12 forums.

As a Gov't-based 'Net, we start with no knowledge, but get freebie security/bugfix updates from trustable (probably) sources consistantly, and get to use their firewalls. But we have to stay legal.

As a Rogue 'Net, we start with no knowledge and whatever software/hardware we had after being tossed out from one of the two sides. We can do anything we want, have access to the black market (undernet if in virtual reality), or just be a Ninja AI and slowly but stealthily become Awesome.
But we don't get any updates until we're deobfuscated into Open Source, or until we join the gov't.
