Game crashes on embark

So I just downloaded the latest lazy newb pack, generated a world, and now, when I try to embark (after selecting proffesions and items), the game shuts down.

Any ideas?

Sometimes it does that if you try to embark on too large a region for your CPU to handle.

Or not enough RAM, or too many embark items (yes, it's possible).

I've played the previous version for a while and have never had this kind of trouble.

Did anything change in this version that could cause this?
