Yeah but you said they lack value at all, which I proved to be incorrect.   I'd much rather get a crate than a backburner or hunstman, solely because I can turn a crate into a scrap via trading easily.   You can just say you're being hyperbolic or something, instead of moving the goalposts to defend your assertions.

Have you never thrilled at the working class schadenfreude of seeing some mook open 5 boxes in a row and get nothing better than a paint?  It's the best part of the Mannconomy.

Edit:  Likewise, there's an economic principle in which a system with two concurrent currencies- one being useful in more ways than as currency, and one solely being a medium of exchange (example:  gold having uses outside of coinage, paper money not so much), people will freely trade the less 'useful' currency away more readily.

The thing about most economic theories is that they're basically a bunch of generalities that while seeming incomprehensible, backwards, and offensive to common sense individuals, hold true in large systems.
