And Then There Were...Three
« on: October 01, 2010, 01:06:35 pm »

I got caught in a goblin ambush and now I only have three dwarves left; we'll call them Larry, Curly, and Moe for now.

All three of them are miners with little else in the way of skill.  Poor Moe is running around on the surface away from a single goblin while the other two are enjoying food/drink and mining when they're not on break.

Is there any hope for these three stooges, or should I just go ahead and restart?

You might want to regroup them, take care of the goblin. Next would be reclaiming your supplies and ensuring that they are safe. Maybe dig and wall them in.

If Moe has a high enough Mining, he might make a death blow on the goblin (since skill with fighting with a pick is determined by mining), providing him armor to make him the defender of the three.

Larry, Curly, and Moe should make 3 tunnels.  Call'em Tom, Dick, and Harry.

Sure it can be done with 3. Or even two. Heck, I rebuild from 1 adult dwarf and 24 babies and children after a particular entertaining bout of FUN.

Remember, you will get immigrants. If the dwarves are different sexes, you'll get a marriage and babies, if they idle around together long enough.

What is this, a therapy session? We don't need to console someone because they're upset about a fucking video game. Grow a beard, son, and take off those elf ears!

Right now I'm just going to dig straight down and see what I find since it doesn't matter too much what I do at this point. ;)

Poor Moe still hasn't gotten his drink yet though.  Goblins keep stopping him, and when it's not them, it's the buzzards.

Kill two of them and see if you can rebuild from one?

I'm actually quite nice IRL, but you people have to pay the price for that.

Now stop being distracted by the rudeness, quit your accusations of trollery, and start arguing like real men!
