Yes, in the entity's raw, you need to add something like:

[WEAPON:ITEM_WEAPON_STILETTO] to activate stilettos.
[WEAPON:ITEM_WEAPON_GLADIUS] to activate gladii.

etc, etc.

Hmm.. the [CAN_STONE] tag might be interesting.. Is it possible to make a weapon only use one kind of stone? Such as obsidian?

Make them require obsidian only.
But if the answer is as simple as I suspect it will be, I feel kinda dumb.   :P

Max, in future you might want to check that none of the items you're making are already in the game - such as the large dagger or scimitar.

I'm modding the entire weapons file. I know that they're in the game, but those have been balanced out a little.

Huh. Just generated a world that had a bandit town running the full length of a major river (i.e. along about three quarters of the length of a large region map). I just had an idea for a megaproject.

I will try this when I have finished with my current fortress.

I have been looking for a mod that adds in some metals and plants without a ton of races that slaughter every single caravan. (That was the reason I got bored of Genesis. >.>)
