This is a useful feature..and this is DF.. so im gonna assume its bugged
That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

Perhaps I'd better explain in more detail. What I had in mind was that two lumps of ironstone should produce one bar of iron at the smelter, with maybe a 10% chance to produce some sand as well.

Never used Dwarf Therapist, mods or tilesets in all the years I've been playing.
I think Toady's confusing interface better simulates the experience of a bunch of disorganised drunken dwarves running a fort.

could you not just use 2 lumps ironstone, 1 lump coke=>1 bar iron and sand (the problem is how to get the sand in a usable form...) or instead of sand, glass?

There's already a pretty good clay mod out there, that incorporates clay, ceramics, and thatched construction. Its in the minimod section of dffd. Its pretty good, especially for giving to the humans.

Making querns uses bedframe molds for some reason
Edit:Speaking of molds you forgot to put them in a seperate file.
Edit:Also you need to change cluster_large to just cluster in the raws

Also the anvil thing in building the ATD workshop specifies empty anvils which has no effect on gameplay other then it saying that while building it.
Remove the [EMPTY] tag from it in your raws to fix this
