Actually, vermin have body parts in the current version.  You can't see them normally because the game won't let you look at a vermin as if it were a creature, but they're defined in the raws.

Are their injuries to individual body parts tracked?

And how did anything that wasn't a cat attack you?

The wambler man I was playing as was not a vermin (part of the mod I was playing increases the body size), so its body parts were dealt with normally, and I was able to be attacked by normal creatures.  I don't know how or if body parts are tracked for actual vermin creatures, just that they do have body parts defined in the raws.

Playing as a verminous creature simply results in it being treated as a regular creature, so anything can attack you, but everything can one shot you as well.

That ought to be interesting...especially deep in the caverns where you get separated with your group and all you could hear are their screams cuz' you can't find them at all...and nercotic syndromes have left you blind...and you spine's broken too...
