"Tidy Workshop" job
« on: September 30, 2010, 04:27:25 pm »

Basically, when you queue up a job at a workshop, the dwarf doing the job will put everything in the workshop this isn't already tasked for hauling in an appropriate stockpile before actuallly continuing with the job- i.e. if you queue up a bunch of roasts at a kitchen, once the first one is complete, your cook will automatically put it in the prepared foods stockpile before starting on the next roast.

What I have in mind would be an individually selectable labor like hauling, not a global thing like "dwarves ignore wood/dwarves gather wood"

I haven't noticed this very much at all.  Usually my skilled crafters have hauling turned off, but I'll see if this happens.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

It would be preferable (in my opinion) for haulers to have the capacity to prioritize hauling from workshops over other hauling, that way your more industrious dwarves don't waste time hauling their own goods, yet the problem is still resolved.

Uh... this is a suggestion for something new, not a bug report.
