That's what makes humans sit around instead of attacking immediately when they besiege you.

Do we know if this has any impact on world gen?

Okay, no dice.  I embarked nice and close to a populous goblin tower, and no invaders.

I still think this has to have something to do with it, but I'm missing another factor.  I may tweak some raws and see if I can gen a world completely dominated by goblins, and see how that does.

Like get rid of humans and elves, and mod in three or four cloned goblin entities?

Another thing is you want to reduce progress triggers in the entity raws to something like

   [PROGRESS_TRIGGER_POPULATION:1]
   [PROGRESS_TRIGGER_PRODUCTION:1]
   [PROGRESS_TRIGGER_TRADE:1]
   [PROGRESS_TRIGGER_POP_SIEGE:1]
   [PROGRESS_TRIGGER_PROD_SIEGE:0]
   [PROGRESS_TRIGGER_TRADE_SIEGE:0]

so they come ASAP.

Perhaps also reduce dwarf childhoods to 1 and delete multiple_litter_rare so that the population can increase spontaneously without migrants.

What do those progress triggers do in Fortress mode, if anything?

I've genned a world, it appears that lot of dark fortress thrived, but I don't know how to check them (a dwarf goblin leader is conquering left and right)

so what happens of you replace the goblins [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] with [LITTERSIZE:10:30]?
I genned a world with that (i think), but have no idea how to count goblin population.
Legends shows that they have a few settlements, but thats all.

It's probably made from baby bone, with a handle of baby leather. Probably uses the leg bones wound together for the handle, the pelvis for the handle/pick joint, and the pick is the spine.

But that's all in theory, of course. Not like I've made a pick out of my own 5 month old baby before.

If you export the files from worldgen or legends, the sites_and_pops txt file has the site population levels as well as the owners.

which export option is this?
and where?
i hate legends. so unintuitive.

Edit: I cannot see and scrolled over the file.
How would I find/add all goblin numbers? or is it somewhere blindly obvious.

Toady has already confirmed that there's a glitch with the invasion code in .13 and .14

Apparently somehow the gobbo invasion code got crossed with cavern-dweller code, so the gobbos were waiting on an event that by definition can't occur.  He says it'll be fixed in .15
