Hey, I'm making a little story of a battlemage with amnesia and a person made out of shadow and- fuck it. the point is that it has a dwarf in it. for now, his name is "Urist."

Said dwarf is strong, simple, bug-eyed, and above all: crazy. He rarely says anything, and bum rushes into perilous situations.

I want to base this hairy ball of unbridled fury off of all the weird shit the same Dwarves we know and love do, So I'm turning to DF's fan base  for help.

Help!

If your interested, all you need to do is post a situation you'd love to see a dwarf in, or how you'd love to see him react to one.

 Don't worry, I cuss like a sailor in churning storm but I don't bite, I just need a few ideas bounced around to see what I can really do with this guy as a character.

Well he needs to carry booze on him as much as possible, and seem utterly disgusted at the idea of drinking water of all things, and if he's somehow forced into drinking water he should become miserable, even more angry and irritable, and get much much slower.

I love dwarf culture. this is going to be super , but the way I've always interpreted it, dwarves are distinguished mentally from humans by a defining characteristic: a complete lack of self-reflection. the idea of a humanoid creature that lives for decades longer than us but never reaches any sort of enlightenment (or, due to how their minds work, the enlightenment they reach is just weird and all their conclusions about the world are either wrong or incredibly dwarf-centric because they don't care to think about anything else) is hilarious to me. and culturally I always interpreted them as completely lacking any sort of patriarchy or gender roles, which is an aspect I like a lot. "dwarf dudes are dwarves. dwarf women are dwarves. we can all use an axe and drink. let's not think about it too much."

Another suggestion is every time he sees an elf his first reaction should be "Slaughter first, loot corpse later". Though does that count as a dwarf act or a player act?

IMO the will of the player acts directly on the will of the dwarf and therefore IS the will of the dwarf. Hell ya, basically.

Random distractions, to match the DF AI. Is he in the middle of an epic battle? Well, that suddenly doesn't compare to the importance of looting the (literal) socks off that corpse over there.

Suicidally miserable when drunk, Omnicidally violent and miserable when sober.
He should get hugely cheered up if he sees superior craftsmanship, and have utterly no understanding of family or relationships. (We breed wi' spores!)
