The goblins are attacking in force luckily they are on the opposite side of the river, with the colossus. Hopefully the two will annihilate each other.

I don't know how they do it but the doctors can tell by looking over this vast distance the damage it has sustained in its battle with the goblins... it doesn't look good.

28th Sandstone

One of our fish cleaners went running through the halls screaming about Vetoreges and has started collecting bones and bits of string, I sure hope that he finds everything she needs.

The dining room is well underway

Upon closer inspection of  a cluttered masons workshop I discovered something peculiar, we have over 300 mugs.

I have no idea what possesed our previous management to produce such an incredible quantity of mugs or where we are going to put them.

10th timber

well at least she made something useful.

4th Opal

my tomb is completed in the center of the new dining room, however i don't know if the dining room itself will be finished any time soon. The winter cold froze the river and allowed me too block even swimming creatures from entering our fort.

I also began Placing cage traps on the bridge to capture any invaders....Or bronze colossi.

whoa whoa whoa, did you just dam the river? Or did you use fortifications?

Im pretty sure he dammed it, although depending on which way the water flows, it might not actually dam
If you really want to dam it you would have to wall off the lake and also dam the river as close as possible to the upstream, then dig a hole to the aquifier and let it drain into it.

I was just thinking that if he wants to keep aquatic/swimming foes away, fortifications would do the trick without messing with the river, right?

That actually sounds like a good idea.  (~.o)b

Its only a small part of the river to the south of the main fort, but yeah on second thought maybe fortifications would have been better. Next person in line will have to do it though 'cause i'm only a few days from spring.

Ok turn is over.
- There is a lever in the new dining room that controls a drawbridge at the end of the bridge.
- If the next person wants to they can remove the underwater wall and replace it with fortifications (do it       quickly though 'cause it will thaw in a little while.
- wall should make the bridge the only way of getting to the fort
- Dining room is completely designated so you wont have to build it anymore just let the masons do their thing
- i was building cage traps on the bridge over the letters so the cage traps will spell out the name of our fort (the green makes it easier to see)

I'm pretty sure flowing water pushes creatures through fortifications and bars. Just a thought.

It's probably made from baby bone, with a handle of baby leather. Probably uses the leg bones wound together for the handle, the pelvis for the handle/pick joint, and the pick is the spine.

But that's all in theory, of course. Not like I've made a pick out of my own 5 month old baby before.

No, flowing water will push ANYTHING through bars, fortifications and (apparently) grates. Even a BC. I guess if it's in a lake though, it doesn't matter.
