Way to give me my turn at the worst possible time.  xD

I have school tonight and tomorrow, as well as a Halloween party.  And then there's...  well...  Halloween.  I'll try to sneak some of it in over the weekend.  Give me four days, tops.  It will be done.

Just read everything so far and this fortress looks quite epic. Those original two military are bad-ass! That commander seems a bit crazy though...

Ok, tentatively signing up here to play. I could become un-expectantly snowed under with school work, but hey your asking for players who am I to decline? Could I also be dwarfed? A mason, failing that a carpenter please.

The cold winter air twisted into the ear of a worker, down in the depths.  Or, at least, as far into the depths that one gets in Lolokthimshur.  Cog swatted at his ears, cuffing them as he hauled an empty oaken cage towards a stockpile.  He sighed, looking at his own breath scatter into the air.  "Y'know, Uvash..."  Heaving up the cage, looking on as his companions working diligently.  "I came here with an acute knowledge of all things mechanical.  I'm able to break the very laws tying this world together on a whim.  'ny other company would worship that, y'know."

Cog's greatest ally and friend nodded, and he continued.  "But to these guys..  I'm a standard fare.  They've got all this and that about building a tower.  No time for my little gismos, says they."  Placing it down at his destination, he sighed.  "I think it's time for a change 'round here.  I've got the talents.  I can make this a respectable fortress, I could."  Looking upwards, he caught a glimpse of the building project of the former overseer, and the one before him, and the one before him...  a sight to behold, dwarves above the ground.

Encouraging the dwarf who had been his best friend for ages, Uvash patted on his side and gave an approving smirk.  A simple, 'you can do it' gaze as he continued onto his job.  Cog nodded, and enthusiastically breathed out.  "Yes...  I can.  So I will."  Crouching down, though not so far as being already close to the ground, he picked up a pebble.  "This will be my first contraption.  One of siege warfare, of automatic services, of-"  As he spoke, the pebble was swat from his hand by Uvash.  Cog thought deeply.  "Yes, I need to build bigger..  I need to make..."  He shouted into the frosty air.  "A masterpiece!"

Nearby, another dwarf by the name of Aban Windfolded, shook her head and sighed.  "He's talking to his cat again."

---

Bear with me, this is gonna take a second to start up and get used to.  I'll edit as I go along.  This is my first succession fort, and it's a big one at that, so 'scuse me while I get used to stuff.  If anyone wants to be important, say aye.  I don't really know what to start of hitting, but Duck kindly noted a few things for me.

Could I also be dwarfed? A mason, failing that a carpenter please.

We have Monom Koganlokum, or "Boatspears", who is a legendary carpenter.  But she's a she, and given your name that could be ironic.  Failing that there's no one we can really spare as a carpenter, as our three have it kinda solid.  Plenttttty of Masons to go around though.  So welcome to the force, "Thatdude" Uzolkulal.

edit:  Correcting typos before going on.

I like your intro.

I don't really know what to start of hitting, but Duck kindly noted a few things for me.

You can always press-gang all 100+ dwarves into building a monument to your hubris. There's no obligation to do anything useful.

Okay, nevermind guys.  Sorry, I can't play this.  I'm not busy, it's just overwhelming.  I dunno where anything is, and I got everyone slaughtered by a goblin ambush that hit after everyone decided to start masterpiecing everything.  I'm not ready to do succession fortresses.  I'll PM the next in line, I just can't understand anything that's going on.  @@
