Sorry this is taking so long. Been feeling kinda apathetic (In general) these last few days. Anyways, here's a mini-update, while I work on the real one:

MINI-UPDATE:

Ronald checks the last of the supplies loaded onto the boat. Once he is sure that everything is ready, he gathers his fellow explorers together. Armed with the spears Diakron has made, Ronald, Helop and ten hand-picked men of the village will head up the river, to expand the borders of the known world. Needless to say, Ronald has been very popular in these last few days.

The band paddles up the river, stopping often to camp and explore the surrounding countryside. The land is very hilly, and one day, one of the explorers comes running back to camp. Very excited, he explains that while he was climbing a nearby hill, he spotted smoke rising in the distance. He quickly convinces everyone to hurry back into the boat. As everyone paddles furiously, and soon the passing landscape changes. The long, tall grasses shorten, and several large packs of animals are seen wandering around. However, that is not the most exciting part. After rounding a bend in the river, Ronald and his group were astonished to farms, much like the ones back in the village.

The labouring farmers, surprised to see Ronald and his party, running towards them. (3)(2) Ronald begins to communicate with the farmers, and although they he has a hard time understanding them, he convinces him that he and his fellow villagers mean no harm. His fellow explorers quickly beach the boat, while the farmers being out several baskets of grain and fruit, and soon a large feast is held.

Ronald, the man of the hour, sits with the head of the village, telling him the many stories of Nilakost Uristrodum, while the head tells Ronald the stories of his village, which Ronald understands is Ulmitast. And far too soon, night falls, and the feast comes to an end.

The next day, the head of the village meets with Ronald, as he prepares to continue up the river. The head explains that further up the river are an evil tribe of cannibalistic peoples, and warns against continuing further.

What shall Ronald do?

Ronald, return to us! We can annex the lands of the evil cannibals later, after we have an army.

Uh, for their own good. Of course.

I should have accepted to lend my boat if and only if my son was allowed to come along.  :P

Ronald shall ask the chieftain if he'd like to send an emissary back with us, so he may observe how we live, and we can learn from eachother.
Then he shall return to Nilakost Uristrodum with Helop, Shet, Roxanne and the other 8 hand-picked men. And maybe kill one of those animals that were wandering around as a trophy.  We shall preserve it's skull as a memory of when we met the people of Ulmitast.

YET ANOTHER (IMPORTANT) MINI-UPDATE:

Ronald "Plump of Helmets" (Blackdutchie):
You decide to cut further explorations off, until the cannibals can be dealt with. (6) You attempt to convince the head of the village to send an emissary over to Nilakost Uristrodum. The head of the village decides that sending an emissary would not be worthy of the village of Ulmitast, and offers his daughter's hand in marriage to Ronald instead.

Sheb (Sheb):
You being to take a serious look at Nilakost's government. Looking back at Helop's trial, you decide that it would be fair to everyone if they have a say in how they were ruled, and that everyone should help support everyone else. (1) However, everyone else doesn't think that way. Many people thought that the spirits would be angry against the village if they followed Sheb's ideas, and critics pointed out the troubles at Helop's trial. They make such a fuss that Sheb decided that it would be better if he dropped all of his proposals, at least for now. (Sorry buddy.)

Oleb I (Nirur Torir):
After talking with Sheb, you decide that if a tax system were to be implemented, a way would be needed to keep track of everything. (1-1) When several villagers heard what Oleb was doing, they brutally assaulted him, and left him to die. (4) Luckily, some passing villagers saw everything, and carried Oleb back to his house, where they cared for him. Thankfully, Oleb recovered, and easily convinced everybody that another trial needed to be held. (4+1) The public, outraged at what the villagers had done, quickly found them guilty, leaving the punishment to the council to decide. Ultimately, the trial did nothing to help Sheb's idea. (Might as well give a verdict now.)

Well, I'll try to get another Constitution trough, which is basically the same, but were power is in the Council rather than the Ecclesia, leaving only one thing to the Ecclesia: the ability to force a Councilman to step down and elect a new one. (Need a 2/3 majority).

The people don't want anything to do with a council currently. Wait a few turns, then reintroduce it.

Ochita was amazed at this statement. Oleb was attacked by a group of farmers and was left to die!!! Could these also be the people who stole bricks? Damnit! Crime cannot happen here! "They shall be stripped of all thier land and forced to work for us, they shall have no rights to marry or otherwise. They shall live off the surplus when it is starting to go off. They shall have no roof. If they live after a year then they shall undergo another trial. If they have learnt forgiveness then they shall be allowed to live in communial housing, every year they shall be judged again. Until they die. Do. I. Make. Myself. Clear! Hmmm? Now go! Get out of my sight and remove your stuff from your home, you shall live in the alleys of the homes!"

They tried to kill me. Of what use is it to let them live? They may succeed at killing another ... Just as Helop may.

Perhaps I misinterpreted the will of the spirits previously: Cyrus' punishment was death. Do those who would kill another of our city deserve to keep their lives?
