'Kay, here is a basic plot outline that I've got in mind:
It is the year 887, shortly after the great dwarven war. The war was started a few centuries after the discovery of Intrine, and a century after the method of stabilizing Intrine was developed. Intrine is a magical substance that was mined out by the dwarves. It seemed to create anomolies and matter from nothing. Experimentation on it found it to create technology never seen before from thin air, be they war machines or mere toys. After it was stabilized it was put to use by almost the whole world. The dwarves were the most proficient with it, but anyone could harness it's power with training. When stabilized it performed many functions, it could provide energy to power machines, spiritual energy could be channeled through it to create anomolies that were controlable by the users, it could be used as a construction tool to create structures in minutes and much more. However, after it was all mined out it became the most sought after substance in the entire world. Kings would build armies to capture but a few ounces of it. This led to the great Dwarven war, a half-century long war that nearly killed off the whole Dwarven population, as well as causing great casualties to every other race known. During all this fighting the evil lord Botharle took control of the Intrine left in the world, and with it he built an army capable of capturing the whole world.
However, the Dwarves have recently found a new accumulation of Intrine, and with this the citizens of the world may be able to overthrow Botharle.
I havent spell checked it yet, but I think it is a fitting backstory. I'll set up the IC thread after a few more posts have been made, be it to offer suggestions or to say how well I've done.
the setting sounds fine. The hard part abaut designing forum games is coming up with a better SYSTEM than the ones that alredy exist.
It will be a simple roleplaying thread, you will roleplay out your character.
