I enjoyed the heck out of my first DR2 playthrough.  Ended at around level 36, having brought 5 levels in from Case Zero.  The load times are annoying, but only really when there are a few in sequence - skipping cutscenes, for example.  The time limit comes from the first game, and I found it MUCH more lenient here.

As for the psychopaths, they do seem to be arbitrarily difficult, rather than challenging.  For instance, everyone I know with the game completely skips over

because he's damn near impossible, at least before level hojillion.

Still, next run I'm getting all the survivors, and after that all the psychos.  I suppose I can try to do both this run, but time can be a factor, especially with some survivors

I used combo weapons exclusively.  To me, there are three classes: Crowd Clearers, Crowd Pleasers, and psycho killers.  Crowd clearers are simply the best at ensuring you have a clear path wherever you need to go.  The nailbat is the earliest example of this, and it remains one of the best.  Crowd pleasers are PP magnets - excellent at killing mass amounts of zombies, each for a lot of PP.  Dynameat and the heliblade are some of my favorites, as they actually attract zombies towards them.  Psycho killers are great single-target damage dealers, obviously useful for psychos.  In the beginning, the Devastator and Laser Sword are phenomenal, though at the end I found myself preferring the knife gloves.

Durability only bothered me when I was just farting around.  It was easy enough to make replacements.

I don't find weapons to be overly destructible mostly because I never use them on the zombies unless I have to. There is never a strong need to start slaying zombies.

Right now I am trying to get gifts for Katie, from what I seen these are the gifts she taken
-Giant Stuffed Elephant
-Super Soaker
-Pony Stick

I've tried giving her a toy mallet, skateboard, Department boxes, and Cake but she doesn't like any of those.

There are eleven gifts, two of which you only have one chance to obtain.

Huh? I killed him on level 11. Two assault rifles and a light sword - dead chef.

I had some severe difficulties with him, not having mixed any drinks or used the knife gloves untill the second playthrough. I waited untill the very last possible moment of the scoop to fight him so I would have more PP, and with the Defiler I just barely killed him after a few failed attempts.

Am I the only one who just kills difficult survivors, or leaves them to die?

You won't come with me until I beat you at poker? Fine, fuck you and have fun being zombie food.

Me and my friend found an excellent way to fight the chef.

We have one of our survivors an assault rifle. They don't have to deal with recoil.

Also the Knife Gloves do GREAT damage.

The game calls that a "massager".

I never managed to beat the chef. He can block everything with a goddamn FRYING PAN.

The thing is that the Chef sometimes goes into his "block" stance. At that point melee attacking him is pointless.

The problem is that there is little indication of when he is in that form...

As for Assault Rifles, from what I understand you don't use all out assault rifle as the bullet spread makes it useless when you do that. Unfortunately assault rifles arn't that good in this game anyhow (except I guess given to Survivors and used against a boss)

I mean, just wait till he moves. It was too easy, I thought it would be harder. The guy in a costume with a chainsaw though is much tougher.

Ohh yeah... DANG that guy is fast!

Yeah I had a lot more trouble with Love Bunny (I never remember his name) then with the Chef

Though the Chef has a better reward.
