"... Eh.." Cast a demonic fear spell on the homeless guy.
[6] [7+2+1(past attempt)= 10 of 5] [3+2=5 damage] Looking towards the homeless man full of frustration at being down here, you tap into demonic magic and suddenly four dark black strands of magic shoot out and wrap themselves around the homeless man. After a few seconds they disappear and the homeless man falls down, his sanity utterly and forever broken by whatever just happened. You take note of exactly how you did that so as to use it in future. ((Critical successes here caused a much more dramatic response than average))
Spell added: Demonic Nightmare: Attaches strands of demonic magic to a target, if they are not broken by the end of the turn, the target is feared. The target will also take 2d4 demonic damage. Mana cost: 5
Demonic Magic Skill up to level 4
You've forgotten that I'm married with a newborn child, haven't you? Unfortunately, that sort of lessens my viability for a romantic sub-plot (though nice try for working one in!). I suppose I could say my marriage isn't a happy one, but I don't think that really fits with the character I'm creating. Still, I suppose help is useful, so we'll see how this plot line turns out.
Get up and meet with LeBlanc. Make some idle chatter, the tell her how I'm here with a small group to meet with Executor LeStronge. Also inquire if she knows a good inn around here, as the fortress seems to be full.
((I may have forgotten >.> <.< I really was just trying to push you (and the party) towards one of the quests, but that's completely off-topic *nervous laughter*))
[3] You decide to follow Representative LeBlanc. You quickly catch up behind her, but she is in a meeting with Executor LeStronge. [5] You decide to stick around out of sight and see what is going on.
((Executor LeStronge will be in red, LeBlanc will be in blue))
Our forces are extended too thin as it is, we can't begin a reclamation effort, not yet.We must abandon certain outposts if we are to accomplish anything other than a long, slow, decline into obscurity. We no longer control the world like we once did, we must adapt to the changing reality of the world.Even if we go on this wild goose chase though, there is no guarantee that our increased presence in the region will lead to the results you expectYou back up and try to think through what you just heard. It seems that LeBlanc wants to reclaim some site where there is some sort of artifact, or maybe knowledge, or perhaps even some sort of diplomatic leverage that could help to revitalize the Zealots in the face of the growing power of the As'ci'til, the Tribes, and the City States. At least that is what you think is going on. You should probably approach this situation carefully.
I try to shake off the sudden amnesiac fog and resume my plans to pray for my companions... but while I'm on the way back to find my allies, I'll attempt to see/touch the magic again.
[4] You head into the chapel and kneel at the alter. A priestess approaches and leads you in a short prayer for the success of your current mission and for peace in the after-life of the companions that once fought with you. (You get to choose one companion to aid next turn with a +1 to all rolls ((don't think this will be common btw)))
[5] After your short prayer you head outside again. You can see the magic still, holding the island up as though it were caught in a gigantic spider web. You reach out and touch one of the strands, suddenly you feel something filling your mind. . . memories. YOu try to organize them but you can't it's like white noise clouding your brain. You see memories and reality begin to switch back and forth in front of you.
[1] You fail to recognize anything about the memories, and your mind slowly begins to shut down from the overload again. You pass out.
Hack his skull in two with my kukri.
[4] [4+1=5 damage] With a quick swing of the kukri, the homeless man's skull is splintered and he's dead. Wiping the blade off on his rags you turn to the demonic caster. "Thanks for the assistance, mate. Don't suppose you'd want me to tag along with you, you don't look like you know where you're going around here." You say. Acting as his guide may very well lead you to new opportunities, and that would be a very good thing at this point as running from the enemy assassins has gotten very old.
Say yes, but i'm over it, but i realy need to go to teh university for now, go to the university and learn new spells, including tier 4
[3] You reach the university after saying your bit to Dor'lek. Looking around something seems out of place as the normally busy university is nearly devoid of people walking around.
Dor'lek, with a stern and oh, so slightly irritated expression, decides that this group of people is impossible. "We hadn't even set a meeting place before everyone went their separate ways." he thinks to himself.
Might as well head to Abelcroft Fortress for nostalgia.
[4] Disgusted with the seeming lack of common sense in the group you head to Abelcroft Fortress. Upon arrival you discover Frelock is, or at least has, already been here and has set-up a meeting with Executor LeStronge. You see many recruits making their way to the mandatory chapel meeting at noon (there is a separate chapel in the Fortress) You begin to think about slipping in and seeing how much things have changed, or perhaps remained the same.
