Foofoo is having steam problems and Toony is unaccounted for.

How are we ever going to continue our retardo-sitcom at this rate?!

Well, give it another half hour before I call it quits for this week. If Cthulhu can get online that's good enough, sorry Toonybro.

Family dragged me away, I'm back. Although word on the street is that this week is canceled. Darn.

'fraid it's not on, sorry.

Because it only started so recently and because I've never once been more than slightly involved in a P&P game, Aqizzar's considering taking over hosting, probably restarting the campaign in a different setting in the process. I'll keep you informed.

Given my track record, we of course all have the highest of high hopes for this plan.  Theretoforewith, let the brainstorming begin.

Bump.  Jack's hungover or lost in another guy or something, so probably no game today.  Possibly livestreams of Samurai Jack or the Sonic OVA.

Two missed games in a row means game is probably dead.  I am now beginning serious consideration of GMing a game myself, hopefully next week, maybe.  Possibilities on the list include "Starship Troopers, the RPG", either in its D20 form or I can adapt it with GURPS.  Other ideas welcome.

He did tell me the game is over and he'd much rather play in your game and then try GMing again once he has any idea what he's doing.

You know like we should've done from the start.

And Samurai Jack today.

Sorry, yes, I did sleep in, aided by other factors. I've also got somewhere to be in about an hour just in case you were expecting me to make up for lost time.

Thanks for taking part in my little attempt but yeah, game's dead, and I'm hoping that before I GM again I'll have had at least a little experience actually playing a P&P game.

Okay guys, I officially have a solid idea about gaming.  I am now asking how many of you will be available on Saturday, same regularish time?  (That is, within a few hours after noon, for everyone except Jack who's not in North America).  It will be GURPS, it will be relatively simple, it will not be persistent (so don't get attached to the character), and should be fun.

I don't actually know what I'll be doing at that time, but I'm pretty sure I'll be free.  If any number of people are available, I'll post the details here.  I really like this idea, as a primer for me being GM and you guys being GM'd by me.  It'll be great.

I'll just mosey in on this thread out of nowhere and inquire about joining your GURPing group.

"Within a few hours after noon" America time is pretty good for me and I have nothing better to do and I like tabletop roleplay so yeah.

Are there openings?

This guy needs to write a biography about Columbus. I would totally buy it.

Well, there's no limit, so if there's no objections I don't see why not.  You do need your own copies of the relevant books, and you need to be on Steam.  I don't have a lot of tolerance for misses, so if you're going to be there, be there and stay at your keyboard; I will go on without anyone, and if need be messily dispose of anyone that can't be dragged along.

Ah. I see.

Here's been my train of thought so far.

"Hm, GURPS huh? wonder what that is."
*looks up GURPS on wikipedia*
"Oh, roleplaying. Well I enjoy me some D&D and somesuch, sounds like fun."
*posts in this thread asking to join*
*reads your reply while reading more about it on wikipedia*
"Oh, it's under a completely different system, so all of my rulebooks are USELESS. However, Fallout 1 used its mechanics and that's pretty awesome"

Granted, I'm still interested, but unless I can find an under-the-table PDF copy of the rules somewhere, then I'll check back on you guys sometime when college isn't eating all of my money like a ravenous beast and I can go buy at least the players guide.

Which edition do you all play? 4th? I would need to know what I'm hunting for.

Otherwise I'll just mosey on out and hunt down a D&D session, which now as an embarrassingly obvious afterthought is probably what I should've done in the first place instead of stepping into GURPS territory where everything is new and alien.

Alternatively, I could read up on the mechanics of GURPS, find a character sheet, and basically wing it, clutching to general roleplaying common sense and experience. But if I absolutely need a rulebook, then ah well.

I'm a fan of Munchkin so I'll probably look into GURPS eventually, whether playing with you guys or elsewhere.
