Put a hand in the oil and keep it there. I have bionic arms anyhow.

(Un)Luckily for you three, the basisn are big enough for all of you, so that you can put in your hands simultaneously.

Mattheo:

(Withstand the pain?:5!) You put your hand into the fluid and instantly realize what is in it. Your tremble in pain as the acid slowly burns away your upper skin and begins to eat away on your flesh. Although you nearly fall unconscious you manage to keep your hand in it the whole minute. Most of the flesh is gone and you dont even manage to move your fingers anymore but you made it. as soon as youw ant to pull out your hadn however a robotic arm shoots out of the altar and forces your arm into a drawer below the basins, instantly the pain begins to recede...

Gerhardt:

Knowing that nothing can happen you put your hand into the basin with the holy oils. (Withstand pain?:6!) Before your realize what is going on immense shocks curse through your body and numb your shoulder. The electrified fluid uses your bionic arms as catalysator and you go into your knees due to the pain...finally after one long horrilbe mintue the electric energy stops and you manage to get your useless bionic arm out of the basin...

Joseph:

Sure that you do the right thing, your put both hands into BOTH basins.(Withstand pain?: 2!) While the acid eats away on your right hand, and the electric shocks curse through your body, you fight bravely to keep conscious...but its too much. You put both hands out of the basin before blacking out due to the heightened electricity cursing through your body...

Increased Inquisitorial Alertness by 5

You both watch in shock as the smoking body of Joseph is dragged away by a servitor. Finally You look  at the Magos who eyes Joseph with contempt.

You two have defeated the Inadequacies of the Flesh and mastered this ritual.

He sees your outright terror in the eyes and smiles

Don't fear for your arms young Adepts. Gerhardt, the bionics will start working again in some minutes and Adept Mattheo...your hand will be repaired by the Machine Ghost.

Like to underline his words the Machine Ghost suddenly starts to speak:

Reparation Process at 98%...You May all Pass Adepts...

Looking into the opening of the altar were Mattheos hand is, he can see that nearly all of the skin and the Flesh have been restored...

The two of you follow the Magos and you go through ritual after ritual...one even more tedious then those before.  Finally after 3 hours you have gonethrough all 16 rituals representing the universal laws.

You have done well adepts. You have passed all 16 rituals and understood them. Now you are official Tech-Adepts for the Adeptus Mechanicus.

He leads you to another giant hangar filled with shuttles which tranist between Mars and the Station.

As you reach one of the shuttles, you join again with Joseph, whose arms haven't been repaired but instead he got a pair of Mechadendrites. But what strikes you far more is the fact that half his head has turned into a shining piece of metal.

Greetings fellow Tech-Adepts.

His voice is completely emotionless and his face doesn't betray any feelings...

The Magos who has seen your irritation starts to explain it to you:

Adept Joseph has failed the Ritual of the Flesh. His Mortal parts have betrayed him and the Cult Mechanicus. Therefore he had to complete the Rite of Pure Thought. His right Brain hemisphere has been replaced with mechanic parts, effectively removing all feelings from his being. Contrary to the RIte of Clear Thought however, his Left Hemisphere has not been enhanced in any way, also ALL ability to feel has been removed and not only Love,Hate and other Irrational Feelings. See it as a measure to ensure his understanding of the 15th law.

Finally he sends you into the shuttle and you have for the first time since your delivery from your home planets time to think...what will you do? Which factions are you going to follow? And far more importantly do you even want to stay on the side of the Imperium. The last thought of course is rhetorical as anything else than following the Imperium is of course heresy...

Joseph
Lost ability to feel
    Lost hands
    Lost Creativity
    gained Mechadedrites
you cannot join any progressive factions within the Adeptus Mechanicus
you can only regain your feelings via the help of "heretical" factions...

Gerhardt couldn't help sneering at the being that had been Joseph. The Adeptus had no use for weaklings such as him. However, he was somewhat horrified by the fate of the adept. He would make sure such a fate would not await him as well.

He spared little thought overall for Joseph, however. Mars lay ahead of them, just a shuttle ride away. The true heart of the Imperium of Man. It glittered like a precious jewel below them in the vastness of space, eclipsing even the majesty of Holy Terra. He had waited long for this moment.

Wait for the shuttle to leave

The fate of his fellow adept scared Mattheo. But no more than the prospect of suffocation scares a diver, of far more interest were the mechadendrites now in the place where his arms used to be. Surely without emotion he could not feel any affront to being stared at anymore.

Study the mechanical parts on Joseph until the shuttle leaves. Look out the window at the amazing views when it does.

Mars.

The heart of the Empire.

The great life-support machine to hold off the inevitable a bit longer.

The once red planet is now covered in silver, green and brown. The poles are covered in the infamous sludge-jungles, while only the equatorial areas are still in their natural state, at least if you ignore all the abandoned mines.

You are quite lucky, due to your arrival in the autumn you can watch the wonder of the jungles slowly turning into organic sludge, which will rise again in the spring and grow back into a majestic jungle.

The rest of the planet however is covered in the biggest hives you have ever seen. But the most impressing thing is the Hephaistos-Complex. The biggest factory complex known to men it nearly covers a quarter of the planet. Even while you enter the Stratosphere you can see a thin black line moving outwards of it. You know that this black line are freshly produced tanks waiting for shipping to the various worlds.

But what strike some of you most, is the Legio Ignatium.
Your eyes nearly fall out as you can see the mightiest weapons fielded by mankind. You seem to be indeed lucky to see several Warhounds on a training mission.
You nearly begin to drool when thinking of working in and with one of the majestic machines...

Finally you slowly descend towards a small complex (as small as a complex can be when dealing with the Imperium) near the equator. It is actually only a small training facility of the Adeptus Mechanicus: a chapel of the Cult, a small fabricator, barracks, construction and repair bays and a small landing pad.

Finally the small shuttle touches the landing pad.

(OOC: just a small part of what is to come...)

Wait patiently for the Magos to speak. Surely he shall point us to our respective stations and/or lodgings.

slowly the shuttle ramps open. Outside you are already awaited by another Magos, several Skitarii, and an Enginseer.

Welcome on Training Facility Owl-XI. I am Magos Tutoris Oric Axess. If you would please follow me...

The group leads you through the small station and after a few minutes you end up in a small vehicle bay.

As a test to determine your abilities and possiblities you will fulfill a simple but crucial task.  One of our more experienced Tech-Adepts has gone crazy and thinks he has to follow a ridiculous being he calls the "Dragon". This is of course heresy and we can neither accept that nor can we allow that the Inquisition gets knowledge of this precarious situation. Therefore you 3 will take care of him. Of course we cannot let you go unarmed.

The Magos leads you to a chimera, a group of Skitarii, several weapons and  two groups of robots.

Choose wisely Young Adepts:

Adept Secutor Gerhardt:

Either you lead this group of Skitarii-Recruits or you take the way of the Myrmidon and do the job yourself.

Adept Joseph:

due to your mistakes you may not choose which machine spirit you will serve. You will be responsible for this Chimera MK III...however you may choose if it either is armed with a multilaser or a heavy bolter. Of course you will do the modifications yourself.

Adept Mattheo:

You may either control that Castellan or that two Crusaders.

Silently he steps back and let you choose.

Mattheo considered the situation. An experienced Tech-Adept that needs to be disposed in the most quiet way possible...
A Bulky Castellan would be ill-suited if he was to arouse little suspicion.
If he had two smaller robots, he could also use them to flank the Tech-Adept. Provided he doesn't have eyes in the back of his head as well, which wouldn't be surprising.
Still, it's a better choice than such a bulky target.

Pick the two Crusaders. Attempt to set up a command link between the cranial comm node and the robots. If impossible, attempt to upgrade the cranial comm node.
