I think demons are immune to paralysis.

Demons are most likely immune to all syndromes and forms of pain. Otherwise they would keep killing each other with their diseases.

You're probably thinking of deadly dust attacks. Forgotten Beasts that spew those do knock themselves around with it, so it does hurt them. I think demons would also hurt themselves with it, but since they are demons it probably has little effect.

I think it would be pretty hard remaining unspoiled with just the clown analogy. OP should add some spoilder tags to the title.

More on subject, modding in a new ringmaster should be awesome. I shall tend to this task at once. Now where was that thread about funbats...

Yep, it really depends on what kinds of clowns you get. In the fortress I'm playing right now, one full squad of dwarves in adamantine armour took out the entire initial wave and only died of blood loss when they encountered some clowns with deadly dust. That fight took place in a long and winding corridor (meant to be an obsidian trap, but wasn't needed in the end) and so that dust killed everyone, even the clowns.

Also, OP, I noticed that in some cases they can teleport through the walls of the adamantine tube into the magma sea. Probably a bug.

Also had some depressingly easy ones, Had a military of 17 dwarves in masterwork iron, All full sets and layered according to the wiki, In year 4 or 5 of my fort I breached it, And my military won, Killing all the demons, I only lost two dwarves.

Sadly, The two dwarves were friends with one of the commanders who was very very enraged about a long patrol duty lately, And started murdering people. The fort didn't totally die, But I gave up in the end

You mean Project Infinity?  I lost track of that experiment while attempting to not fail my AI class.  I might resurrect it; my original thesis (that demons are not infinite, merely incomprehensibly many) seems to have been proven false, but some of the side-projects might be worth fiddling with.

Anyways, here are the funbats I manages to create.  They spawned just like any other demon, despite being easily dispatched giant bats that happened to have Hell as their biome.

Some clowns/fb's have dust attacks that throw them into walls and such.   They eventually kill themselves in confined spaces ;)

My fort has at least 4 cotton candy stands, and at least 2 are solid for 5+levels :D

How can you tell when the cotton candy stand is solid?  I've got one reaching way up into cavern layer three.

You can't, except by rolling the die every Z-level downwards you go.  That's part of the Fun.  (Although obviously, anything above a checked level is safe.)

Each region only has about 5-6 out of the default 52 types of demons. So you could embark over a random selection of the lamest ones, or you could get one or all gasbelchers.

I think I might go down for some cotton candy. I spent hours on this fort before realizing I had no goblin playmates, and clowns are always funny guys.

(As an aside, can I whack my History seed and keep this awesome site while hopefully getting goblins?)
