If we want to mind control them all we have to do is wipe their memories with a quick blast of radiation and super hormones, then convince them that, "I am the master, obey, obey," and we'd be pretty much set. I want to clone all of them, then enslave the originals so we can make more clones of them. We could obviously just extract their genetic material for an endless supply of clones, which we'll do anyway, but that doesn't involve enough torture of them. We'll drain them of all their worth, and then toss them in the hole our orbital doom cannon created.

Make it a beam of extreme radiation, so it destroys only life and unshielded electronics.  The OWL and all other spaceworthy craft should be fine if put under that, because electronics that go into space are required to be shielded.

The DRONES on IONIA build a RADIATION KILLSAT and launch it into ORBIT.

The magrails on the two moons start bombarding the bearpeople.
The KillSats start shooting at the bearpeople horde.

I say build a supercomputer so we can start improve and invent new stuff. Develop magrail/magcatcher on the planet too. And rebuild that hydrodam.
