Create a Drone able to reproduce himself. Gave him a simple but freestanding AI: Reproduce when possible, kill anything not us or one of our robot.

And OBVIOUSLY: a back-door that makes us able to take back control whenever, a directive to never resit such an attempt, and strict control of the blueprint copying process so there can be no mutations or evolution.

We should make it so that they combine intelligences if connected.  Eventually we would be able to upload ourselves into it.

Once the threat is gone build laser defenses around all planetside facilities so this never happens again.
