Leave the stone-age bears and other biologicals alone until we have proper genetics facilities to deal with them.

Since it hasn't been done, use the satellite's AI to predict the path of any rock larger than a baseball that's currently visible, extrapolating its motion to the next twenty years, with a steadily-decreasing margin of error should its predicted path come close to any of our holdings. (This should be a trivial task.)

I'd actually hold off on the magrail cannon until we get a stronger foothold here, but I'll go with the group.

You can scan all visible asteroids, trying to determine to determine if any of them are on a collision course with you or you drone down on the planet. Most seem to be pretty harmless, not coming near either or the planet either, you have just about finished your scan when:

About 3 largish asteroids are on a collision course with your satellit and the planet beneath it, they will arrive in turn 13.

Drone factory has no power and is not yet completed. Drone factoy unable to make advanced engines. Unable to transport advanced engines to satellite. No message drone aboard vessel. Not enough power to send message to homeworld and defend against asteroids with a high chance of success. Determined that self-preservation takes priority in this case.

Faced with the threat of your imminent destruction you divert all power to your defensive weaponry to ward of the rapidly approaching asteroids before they collide with you.

You manage to divert the course of two of the asteroids away from anyway sensitive areas like the planet, the satellite oor the moonbase and manage to completely destroy one of them.

NO POWER, ALL FUNCTIONS CEASE UNTIL POWER REGAINED.(Will take 3 turns to regain sufficient power to do anything with the satellite.)
