For the poll, I would like the same starting gear for everyone, but whatever location they want.

i would like to attempt this (and fail)
so apart from a certain material getting the [UNMINEABLE] tag, what other raw changes are there between 31.12 and 31.16?

It's probably made from baby bone, with a handle of baby leather. Probably uses the leg bones wound together for the handle, the pelvis for the handle/pick joint, and the pick is the spine.

But that's all in theory, of course. Not like I've made a pick out of my own 5 month old baby before.

I'd join because I heart Adventure Forts, but I know I'll never actually finish it and that's one contestant slot wasted.  I assume these forts will be publicly playable when it's over?

Also, I don't like the way the new Underdark cramps my style when I'm digging.

Sign me in as player!

Though I have not tried adventure mode yet...

Also, is it possible that we wait for the coming release as it has some interesting adventure mode fixes? Also, hopefully some serious bugs in fortress mode gets attention as well...

I suggest that we use same world, everyone can choose own embark location from that world. Embark profile can be decided by player themselves. If this was normal DFM, I would suggest same embark location and profile, but as we are going to use adventure mode as well it would be good idea for diversity to allow everybody select specific embark location from pre-generated world.

The only limit of the embark location should be that it must be the same size for everybody. We should either go with 3*3 or 4*4. I prefer 4*4 as my new desktop can handle those pretty well, though some may want to use 3*3 for speed. Also, I think it's norm in these competitions that sieges, weather and temperature are turned on?

why not a 2x2?  that still provides tons of space for building...it will just be more vertical.

This is a useful feature..and this is DF.. so im gonna assume its bugged
That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

I usually say 4x4 or 3x3. More space can be nice if you want to build things that may far apart, or if you want to design sprawling mazes. Size preference is something else to take into account when deciding whether to let people pick their own embarks too.

I am against anything 4x4 or larger, as people with slower computers (such as mine) will have difficulty.
Alternatively, embark SIZE is something each contestant picks themselves.
Same world, and that's it. Everyone has their own plans, and sets off to make a better deathtrap than the others.

Maybe have a free choice below a certain maximum size, such as 20 embark tiles?
