I'm altering the raws and removing the [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] tag from dwarfs. Just like kitty-cats.

AWESOME. On the other hand I fear we'll have a babysplosion!  :D
Only if i did it right. Else it will be normal.

It's probably made from baby bone, with a handle of baby leather. Probably uses the leg bones wound together for the handle, the pelvis for the handle/pick joint, and the pick is the spine.

But that's all in theory, of course. Not like I've made a pick out of my own 5 month old baby before.

11th Malachite
We hopefully have enough traps to make the clown-culling easy.

Once they're all hooked up to the lever in the makeshift mee-

12th Malachite
I have given birth to twins

OOC: I believe I did the tag removal correctly. Also the girl is all of ONE FRAME older than the boy.
What a wonderful event. Datan Akruletur Tobul has blessed us!
A boy and a girl. I wonder if Hephaestus wants to name one of them.

23rd Limestone.
It seems that another cat has become Hephaestus's pet. Interesting.

25th Limestone
Tekkud has withdrawn from his social circle. I wonder why.
Anyway, I must expand the cat shrine.

1st Sandstone
Artifact toy hammer, eh? Not very useful.

18th Sandstone
There is a forgotten beast lurking in one of the caverns.

OH FUCK IT HAS DEADLY DUST. ITS ATTACKING SOME OF THE CATS AND DOGS BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY WAY TO GET TO THE ANIMALS.

13th Timber
We are almost through the adamantine tube. Soon we will be killing clowns

17th Timber
Besmar has given birth to twins. Good for her.
There is a lump of semi-molten rock stopping us from placing our trade depot in the tube.

but we are nearly there.

2nd Moonstone
WE HAVE BREACHED HELL
AND THE FORGOTTEN BEAST IS KILLING EVERYONE
FUN
FUN
FUN
FUN

My antivirus keeps deciding that various parts of the save are high-risk viruses/trojans and vaulting them, despite the scan saying there was nothing wring with the zip/rar the save was in.
11th Moonstone
Hephaestus described having another wrenching sensation, just as items and creatures began to disappear. Interesting.
Tragedy! MY BABIES ARE DEAD! DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!

15th Moonstone
FUCKIN BASTARD DIPLOMAT
WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A DISASTER
WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
PISS OFF OR DIE
ACTUALLY JUST DIE

no more journal, everyone is either dying or tantrumming. Especially Satori and Hephaestus, what with the two lost kids.
there better be migrants within the year.

27th Opal
Things look bleak. There's only ten of us left, and three are mere children.
The farms are being walled in, as has hell.
We need to find another food source, or steal from the caravans.

8th Obsidian
Damn crazy Hephaestus took a swing at me with an axe. I solved him. For good. With my pick. No more fucking Hephaestus out to get me. none. not at all.

18th Obsidian
Fuck this job, someone else can try to run the fortress

Anyway, Satori and Exilo are the last named dwarfs, there are three surviving children, one of whom is apparently hostile.
Everything went to hell upon it's breach, because the FB somehow got into the fortress. It couldn't fly, and i walled everything off.
Satori decided to have a rather violent divorce.
The cat shrine has doubled, but about half the cats are dead.
A Reclaim might be in order.

Sure, they'll be fine. :D

I love it how DF doesn't need to be all politically correct and not kill babies and children.

Hell, if I could get my adventurer to eat sentient beings, I would eat the flesh of a child, just cause I can.
you can. edit the ethics to allow the eating of sentient beings, same race, etc.
I usually make torturing for fun acceptable. For the ELVES.

O____o

You killed the fort in turn 3?

Well shit.

Good luck smariot. If needs be, you are allowed to reclaim, and get the entire first year. Provided that you don't take 3/4th of your current year or some such. Idk.

This fort just got hilarious.

But not in a funny haha way... Er.. Maybe. Idk.

I once killed a fort in about four days. Embarked on top of a chasm, with lots of undead monsters.

OOC: I expect the bulk of my turn to involve very uninteresting maintainance, cleanup, and therapy, lest the few survivors turn on each other, so I'll probably resort to story telling rather giving you a log recounting the monotony.

My name is Sacch. I'm a dwarf from The Fatal Ice... or at least I was. Living up to its namesake, I and many of my brethren were killed before their time, while under the inept mismanagement of Satori and Hephaestus.

Our deaths were sudden, killed by an enormous fuchsia dimetrodon. It never touched me, it simply stared into my eyes, and it was all I could do to stare back. All I can remember is a faint odour emanating from it, very subtle, somewhat reminiscent of almonds. Before I was aware of the effect its dust was having on me, my body went limp and I was surrounded by blackness.

I do not know how much time had passed, but when I regained awareness of my surroundings, I found myself surrounded by blood, limbs, and lifeless corpses, one of which was my own. The dimetrodon was sliced cleanly in half, I know not by whom, and I suspect the hero that did it had sacrificed his or herself to accomplish the feat.

My only consolation is that Hephaestus, in his own foolishness, has fallen as well; but this is not enough for me. While my brethren seem to have accepted their fates and passed beyond the ethereal netherworld I presently find myself in, I have not. My life had a destiny, and I refuse to move on until I see that destiny fulfilled.

The handful of remaining survivors are working tirelessly to create a resting place for the fallen. I am happy to see they have at least some respect for the dead, and haven't merely tossed us to the magma like a pair of tattered and unwanted pigtail socks.

One of the survivors, a milker name Shem, is in very bad shape. She lies in bed; weak, bleeding, and near death. She seems vaguely aware of my presence at times, and I am wondering if I can strengthen this connection and use it to my advantage to influence her and fulfil my destiny.

That of course depends on her continued survival. Satori has taken up the responsibility of caring for Shem. While I'd have preferred vengeance against her, it seems Satori has become an integral part of my future plans, and should Shem somehow survive, I might even consider forgiveness. Here's hoping that Satori makes an infinitely better surgeon than she does a manager.

Not only did I die but my two kids did as well. No wonder I went axe-crazy on Satori.  :)

I've been reading the advances in this fort for quite some time now. But as of right now the future of The Fatal Ice looks so grim and bleak... which is all the incentive I need to jump right in.

Can you guys add me to the turn list? I'd like a hand at rebuilding this fortress; of course, if it is already revived by the time the ticker reaches me I'll just put my own touches here and there :D

Since the current population is nearly decimated I don't think dwarfing me is possible, but if an empty dwarf becomes available I'd like a dwarf named 'Laurie' ('Lorrie' if female) as my avatar. But as this is my first participation in a succession game, I don't exactly know how dwarfing works out...

Also, is it OK if I use Mayday's graphic verion? It's not a problem if I have to use vanilla graphics, but DFG would help me greatly.

smariot: Not bad! You've got some kickass storytelling skills, I can see this already.

Too bad Glenneth died. =/ He had a really epic amount of musicality.

meto30: Of course you can join! :3

I personally use DFG as well, so go ahead and use it. I could never understand ASCII that well, I know enough to play the game, but its always better if I have a visual of what I'm seeing. xP

Not an embark. It was my first succession.

There is a female Engraver and Leatherworker among the survivors, and Satori has given birth to a female baby. Does anyone want to claim and name these characters before I finish my writeup?

I'm tempted to name the baby Lorrie, maybe it will become a child by the time meto30 gets a turn.

It's written and posted. The baby got named Lorrie.
