Is everyone getting back into this?

I couldn't stand the combination of lag and grinding. If the grinding's better and the lag's gone and it's cool again, I'm in.

I think I'd get back into it, new map or not. I had a lot of fun in the game, but found myself in a very annoying B12 villiage.

No new map right away, but one is definitely coming. The new systems are still being worked on but progress is happening.

Map reset is unlikely to happen this year. New learning system could be done by the end of this month, but I think they'll take a month at least to make a better mapgen (which IMO is time well spent). Throw in some odds and ends, and I'd put my educated guess at late January/early February. But from what I've seen in a sneak preview (I'm Potjeh there, and as a mod was one of the people to test an early version of the LP system) the wait will be more than worth it since things are getting a fair bit less grindy.

Do note that my guess is just that, a guess, and nobody knows when the reset will actually happen, not even the devs themselves.

If that's the case I might have to start playing again with the update. The grind really got to me as unless I invested more time than I had into playing then my character would never be best in the settlement at any useful skill and so only good for menial tasks.

Hey, I just settled a new character in one of the northmost supergrids of the world (about a 10 second boat ride to the northern invisible wall). I've settled on a lake with two decent-sized islands in the middle, and sad is abundant. There's also a clay node on the lake (only like Q16 from what I've seen, however), and there's easy access to both coniferous and deciduous forests. Other than myself this area (from what I've explored so far) is completely uninhabited, and almost 100% untouched.

You guys are free to join up if you like. I'm not too keen on organizing the standard box city that usually sprouts up, though. I'm more interested in a community of people working loosely together in the same general area. As in, each of us have our own plot and aren't forced to live within a specified area.

I've been playing on and off since the middle of world 2, so I'm decently experienced with most things, and will be able to show any newer guys the ropes.

Send me a pm if you want to settle around here, or would like more info  :).

EDIT: After some exploration there does seem to be a city around 30 minimaps away from my settlement, as well as some decent quality soil (q50~)

I  just started a new character too, and i entered usp45 and all that but the gate was closed, so i settled near there. I made some stone axes and things to get some LP. Not sure what to do now.

One of the older B12 communities, New Dorenzil, got wiped out recently. A moment for our brethren.

No clue. Some of their leaders have made posts though, stating that they and all the other leaders of New Dorenzil were killed, and whilst may be continuing to play, will not be doing so as part of ND. Villages still exist, but this was the second oldest of 'our' villages on this map.

Damn, that's no good. Though, it's cool of them to continue to play.
