My only regret is that I could not purge it with magma.

Hmm...looks like undead populations may actually be infinite. The populations of the living can be easily depleted by hunters over even a couple years.

I can "sanitize" the caverns surprisingly easily, assuming all wildlife is of the living type. A squad of 10 hunters, or 10 military dwarves assigned to defend the cavern will happily run around and butcher everything. It takes only one or two years to wipe out everything in the cavern. Each type of creature has very limited numbers, often times only single digit.

But you're way above that limit with the yeti!  :o

I'm tempted to try to reclaim that, if only to try for the x3 multiplier on an infinite supply of skulls and bones.

Only time i've ever had a fell mood the guy killed a dwarf and just left the corpse there, then ran back to the butcher's workshop and stayed there until goblin crossbowmen shot him to death through a hole in the ceiling.

Was kind of weird, he never started making anything but had no demands and wouldn't kill any other dwarves.

Terrifying maps are awesome Fun. I had a fort on 1x1 plot of badlands that was full of zombie camels. The only issue is that with a map that small, the camels keep coming and coming and COMING. Eventually I got sick of the constant spam of interruption messages and breached HFS to end it all.

I reclaimed the site and found myself with another batch of 7 random dwarves... with no military skills whatsoever. Some quick work to rebuild the bridge and its constituent lever trigger later, and now exploring my (empty) fortress.

Oh, and the entire wealth of the fortress is littered outside. Oy.

At least the first line of 10x bronze serrated discs is done into the main entrance.

Zombies hordes are easy enough to lure in to their doom on weapon traps. IIRC, they are building destroyers. Build a simple building, such as a lever and don't even bother linking it to anything. They will eagerly run it at to destroy it, only to be sliced to pieces by the weapon traps.

Why do you have do make me look so bad?
 :P

Seriously, though, that's a pretty awesome pick with all of the dead yetis. Did you say you killed them all with your military?

You could start a zoo and end up with a natural history museum, I'm sure no one would mind.

Yeah, military on "Scorched Earth" mode.

"Scorched Earth" mode is a burrow set to the outside exclusively and military ordered to defend it.

The best dwarven defense is a unrelenting offense with some traps at the entrance, just in case.
