Making my dwarves ignore warm/damp stone
« on: September 21, 2010, 04:45:49 am »

Please tell me there's a way to do this. Also tell me how, if there is.

The only time i've ever actually dug into magma or water without knowing it WELL beforehand the place i dug through wasn't warm despite the magma being on the other side.

Unfortunately, you can only disable the "center on event", "announcement message" and the "pause game on event" parts of it. Not the removal of the designation.

Back in 40d, there was such a tool to just ignore all those warnings. See the 40d Wiki Utility pages. Not sure if an equivalent exists for DF2010.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

Alter the init\announcements.txt file and remove ":P:R" from the following :

[DIG_CANCEL_WARM:A_D:D_D:P:R]
[DIG_CANCEL_DAMP:A_D:D_D:P:R]

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Making water and lava flow into your base would be alot more FUN when only giving you a warning.

Yes, i should probably have specified that it only does what Moonshine Fox writes here, i.e. it still removes the designation.
