Also, is it possible to mod goblins so they would have them breed as cats?

Yeah.... I can't live without the DF wiki. :)

If you increase the litter size of goblins, chances are, you'll get more goblins.

Delete their brains in the raw files.  They won't be able to run away ... or attack, or do much of anything.

Also, is it possible to mod goblins so they would have them breed as cats?
Intelligent creatures will only breed if they're married and their spouse is on the same map as them.  Goblins won't get married during a siege, so the only way you can get them to breed is if a married couple happen to show up and then you put them in a room together and keep them from escaping.  You could just take out the tags that make them intelligent, but then they won't siege anymore.

Hm... I'll substitute the running away with more goblins then. I want more goblins that will attack, not goblins that stand there doing nothing. ;)

Add it in, and remove [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] from the female caste.

I think the [NOFEAR] tag makes things not run away from combat.

If anyone in DF still has the [FLEEQUICK] tag, that might also be causing it, although I suspect that tag is obsolete.

No matter what though, if you kill enough squads out of the total siege that attacked, the rest of the attacking army will generally flee.

I am not entirely positive on this sense I can't access the wiki to check, but I believe [START_GROUP_NUMBER:10] in entitiy_default.txt might control the minimum goblins for a siege.

Also adding [NOFEAR], in the creature_standard.txt file, will stop them from running when in a loosing fight. Not sure if this effects them all running after a certain amount die, but combine this with the above might just make it harder to make them run.

Would building a bridge and then raising it after the goblins pass seem a more reasonable solution than modding?

[START_GROUP_NUMBER:10] tells how many people are in the starting groups at the year 0.

NOFEAR and LIKES_FIGHTING helps but does not stop them from running away... It's a general AI stuff.

So I just generated a new world where goblins have the [NOFEAR] and [LITTERSIZE:4:5] tags, should be fun.
