This is the state of France today.
Oil reserves in France are drying up rapidly. We must get more oil or risk total demobilization of industry and military. Additionally industry is in a huge slump. Factories are working at less than 3/5 of their true capacity.
The government has been pursuing war-like policies lately. Accusers have cited this as aggressive activity that will only increase the chance of war.
It seems that the bulk of these war-like policies is simply to spend government resources as fast as possible. Much more military research has been authorized and spending is going through the roof.
As expected the French government has begun seeking out trading partners to gain precious black gold.
A massive deal is being discussed with the UK in Brussels today. High hopes are being put on this deal.
After lengthy negotiations no deal was made. Briton has once again proven to be a poor friend to France.
As an alternative to one huge deal the French government inquired about several small trades with nations including, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and the largest deal being one with Chile. Hopefully we now have enough oil to run our industries.
A leaked government report shows that much of the French military hasn't been updated since the Great War. This reflects poorly on the government. Many advances have been made in the post-war period. The least they could do is implement them.
In an attempt to stimulate the economy, much new industrial development is planned in Paris. State-run factories are opening to build war materials. Many right-wing groups are outraged by the apparent Socialism.
Still more research is being proposed. Despite increased spending the government is somehow still reporting a surplus.
The government has made forcible drastic changes in the economy. The right is in an uproar over "The Rise of Socialism." All attempts at upgrading the decrepit, French military are now on hold as emphasis is put on economic stimulus.
A questionable trade was made today between France and the Soviet Union. It is beginning to look like the government is trying to bother the Right.
Economic growth is on the rise. Resources are balanced and production is stable. France's future is looking brighter.
French military researchers have been accused of general incompetence by opposition members today. Maurice Gamelin, particularity, was accused of getting a job through friends in the government rather than actual skill. An investigation was conducted and the conclusion was that no work was actually done. He has simply been collecting a paycheck. Despite this fact Parliament voted against sacking him. Once again the government has failed to uphold justice.
Additionally Briton, Canada and South Africa have given us many helpful military blueprints. We decided to return the favor and we have sent naval blueprints to Australia.
The conflict in Ethiopia spilled over into French soil today. Italian soldiers fired on Foreign Legion soldiers believing them Ethiopian. French troops returned fire. A short battle erupted before French officers were able to contact the Italians. The Italian troops were ordered to surrender by command staff and shortly the firefight stopped. Luckily there were few casualties on either side but Corporal Triston Sol and Renard Beusquet were killed. This has prompted increased hostility with the Italian government, already no friend to the French.
The government is conducting an overview of their African holdings. The conclusion is that only small portions are actually useful.
